    How often to do pushups?

    Hi guys I'm 17 and I'm just wondering how often can I do pushups? Thanks!!

    You can do pushups whenever you want, there is no negative effect that will happen. Remember to keep a good form and that will improve your strength overtime.

    I don't do them till 2-3 days after a chest day because I feel after I worked out my chest I need give it time to rest that's just me though almost everyone feels its ok to do them everyday.

    September 7th > First week of lifting!
    {Starting Lifts>September 12th, 2014}
    Bench: 115 lbs, 3-4 reps couldn't lift bar off my chest for last rep
    Squat: 95 lbs, cant remember reps no more than 10
    Deadlift: 135 lbs, 5 reps

    {Lifting Progress>October 8th, 2014}
    Bench 135, 3 reps
    Squat - 115, 5 reps bad form > need works
    Deadlift: 175, 5 reps

    Depends on your goals. For increasing numbers, follow the Grease the Groove training ideology.

    For hypertrophic reasons, take a day or two of rest in between pushup sessions. Though I would encourage you to join a gym for best results. Or even just buy a power rack + bench + olympic barbell and weight set and lift at home.
