i'll start:
Got home from school (was 3:46PM at Tel Aviv where i used to live)... stayed up to watch the news nearly all night with parents calling/e-mailing any known relatives in the area... spent the entire next day at school discussing events (i remember a math test was canceled) with teacher worried about daughter who lived there... all was good after all...

Music class playing with a barking/meowing template on the keyboard. Teacher told us to turn everything off and listen to the PA, which pretty much said not to call anybody. We all got sent back to our home rooms and they told us what happened. I really didn't understand what they meant, I thought of a tower as kind of an eiffel tower and it wasn't that big of a deal. Went home and watched the news, then I realized that thousands of people were just killed.

Mom woke me up as I was late for school, then said you have to come see this.
1st tower was smoking. Then I saw a plane in the background and I thought to myself "If a plane just hit the tower, wouldn't the air space be cleared immediately?" then about 40 seconds later said plane smashed into the 2nd tower.
No one really worked that day at school, we just watched the TV in every class.
