Look I'll preface this with the fact I did try it
I got injured doing those workouts and other then decent cardio it didn't help me with my goals
Other then that w/e workout is fun for you do it
This is a bodybuilding site so my goal is to build muscle with the least amount of risk for injury something crossfit does not offer me

Seems cool, something different.
Why don't you like it?
Why you mad?
Why you insecure with yourself?

There are plenty of WOD's that last longer than 20 minutes. I've done WOD's that last up to an hour. I.E. Filthy Fifties, Murph type workouts last 50+ minutes. Once you start getting used to that type of training a lot of times you're doing more than 1 WOD in a day, depending on what they are.
The first 30-40 minutes of a workout at an affiliate SHOULD be warmup, working on some type of skill which is usually strength training or olympic lifting of some sort, then the WOD. So it's not like you walk in, do a 2 minute workout, and leave. And once you have been with an affiliate long enough and have shown you know what you're doing, they usually let you come in whenever you want if you're paying an unlimited membership and simply do...well whatever. Go in and work on your power lifts, Olympic lifts, other skills before your WOD or just whenever.
Hahahahaha who the hell are those guys?
I have a hard time believing the top athletes are natural, especially when $250,000 is on the line now. They make do multiple workouts a day, but their recovery to do these are impressive.Kill the Hype.

Ok, I read through most of this thread and I'm very surprised at what is being said about The CF workouts/gyms. I suppose my gym is an exception because we lift heavy with our reps typically set at 5. We do our three sets at 65%, 75%, and 85% of our one rep max.
Also it's not even that expensive at $150 for 3 months. I joined CF mainly for the cardio though as I am trying to lean out and increase my endurance for rock climbing. I HAVE been getting stronger with my lifts and lasting longer with climbing so I'm pretty satisfied with crossfit.

"torque dump" as KStar describes it.
That GIF is hilarious. Looks like an engine.
$50 a month!? It's $150 a month most other places. Way too expensive. Garage gym. Yes I'm considerate, I don't join a globo gym and take up all the space and piss people off hahaha. And gyms in NYC are too expensive anyways.Kill the Hype.

Because kippling pullups are the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Plus, its a great way to hurt yourself. Also, they rob you of your money. Its just a money making scheme. There's no reason you have to learn from a certified crossfit trainer when you could just google the workouts and injure yourself on your own.

it seems like the trivialize Olympic Weightlifting with improper form and technique. the way I've seen Oly lifters lift and the way Crossfitters do it is entirely different. would never take advice from a crossfitter about oly lifts
imo, if you are going to teach Olympic Weightlifting, you need to be "USAW" certified. not "CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting" certified.

A lot of the compete in Oly competitions. I agree. They have people like Bergeron constantly going around and teaching though. Same with gymnastics they have people like Tucker and Paoli as well. So they're trying to get experienced people from all aspects to prove themselves which is good. Erin Cafaro was rowing for Team USA yesterday at the Olympics and she helps a lot with rowing form. Romanov and Bryan Mackenzie for pose running.
Slow progress.
And if Annie makes yourdick hard you may be into jacked twilight men.Kill the Hype.

There's a big freakout going on within the Crossfit community - reported here: http://gawker.com/5931288/crossfitte...cious-crossfit
Here's the original thread: http://www.board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=76936
Ciffs:
-Husband and wife form Crossfit
-Husband and wife are going through nasty divorce
-Wife (allegedly) rejected a better offer to sell her half of shares to husband
-Wife instead sold her half to private equity firm that wants to push a business model on the affiliates that is making the CF'ers absolutely lose their sh*t
This is just my speculation, but I would have to assume that the husband hit some of those Crossfit Girls and got caught.Photo Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=140023453 (with pics of me in my underwear!!!)
