    Frozen chicken breasts

Can you cook chicken breasts frozen or do they have to be defrosted? Reason why I'm asking is because I have a 10 lb bag. I don't want to have to defrost a few pieces every few days so I was wondering if I could just cook them while they are frozen. I'm planning on grilling them on the foreman.

Yes, you can cook them frozen, just don't expect to roast them. You can always marinade/defrost them. This is done by putting them into a bag with marinade, then keeping the bag in a bowl of water (room temp or colder). Usually only takes about 30 minutes of marinating/thawing for them to be ready to cook.

My housemate was able to cook frozen chicken on the foreman just fine. He just put it on while it was warming up instead of waiting for it to be super hot, then half way through started seasoning it.

Yes. Put seasonings in bag as well. Marinaded chicken tastes a lot better/tender. You can put the bag in warm water (or microwave some water to boiling) for quicker defrosting.

Probably not the best idea to cook them frozen on the Foreman. Reason being is that you'll probably end up burning the outside and leaving the inside undercooked. I would at the very least take 2 minutes and defrost them real quick in the microwave. If they're thin chicken tenders, you might be fine though.

Why dont you defrost the whole bag, cook the whole bag, then freeze the cooked chicken? Gonna turn out a lot tastier.

On the Foreman grill, no, but I cook pre-seasoned, frozen chicken breasts in the microwave all the time. Quality isn't as great as if it was done on the grill, but when in a time crunch, it's aight.

Yeah, but if your grilling it, it would probably be best to buy a bag of thin cutlets instead of thick breast to insure you cook it through before the outside burns.

Personally, I just throw it in a bag with marinade and forget about it. It will thaw out on its own in the refrigerator. Chicken will last in the refrigerator for at least 3 days, so that gives it plenty of time to thaw out safely on its own.

Freeze the cooked chicken? Wouldn't that taste like sh*t after a few days? I've tried that before freezing the chicken I cooked from the foreman and it was the driest crap I've ever ate. It was like chicken jerky marinated with lemon pepper.

If you're going to freeze cooked chicken, freeze it it broth or something to keep it from drying out. Cooked chicken has way less moisture than raw, so freezing it can make it taste like sawdust when you thaw it out.

Takes a few minutes to defrost them in the microwave. Then take em out, squeeze some lemon juice all over them, season & spice them (I like Emeril Chicken Rub), and throw them on the george foreman.
