OLY Shoes?
I am looking to buy a pair of oly shoes. Just wondering if you guys know any good websites, brands, etc. I have a smaller but very wide foot. I'm around a 9.5 (3E in width)
Let me know if you got anything.

Pendlay Barbell sells do-wins which are usually wider than adidas. Risto Sports makes customized shoes if you have a freaky foot.

I'll check it out.
I don't have a freaky foot, so I wont need custom. Just a little naturally wider.
May I ask what style/year the do-wins are?
I just read a review on the Pendlay 2010 and it said they don't run as wide as they used to...

Obviously you'll need to locate somewhere nearer that sells them, but at least it gives you some idea what to look for...

yeah I'm in MA.
I'll assume this link is allowed, but if not just google VS Athletics weightlifting shoe. They go for $76.50, cheapest shoes I've found, and I think they are good quality.

how long ago did he buy them? they have reduced the heel height recently.
I also don't have anything to compare them to (other than saucony sneaks) but they seem pretty solid with the velcro straps

Toronto Weightlifting has a good shoe for $129CAD with free North American shipping. It's leather, wooden heel that isn't too high. I ordered a pair on Friday.

Olympic weightlifting had made me not only stronger and quicker but also better looking and possibly more well-endowed. See what it can do for you!

KNEES GO PAST TOES
I have wide feet and the adidas adistars from 2004 fit just fine, them and the ironworks are good shoes, I think the 2008 model is ugly so I never looked into those, cracky has the 2008 ironworks and likes them though

They might be better now.
The new Adidas are tight as hell on the sides of the feet. Rogues are made for fat feet. Botevs fall apart. Haven't heard good things from the Nike's.

I have Adidas (IronWork 2) and have wide feet.
After a month they stretched out, completely happy with mine.
Although, if Nike makes another run of shoes for the 2012 Olympics I'll seriously consider a pair.

Does anyone know where I can purchase some of the older Adidas at around $100 or less? I can only find the newest adistar and Iron Work III online.

Ron Paul!
I have a custom pair from Risto Sports and they seriously fit me the best out of any shoe I own (serious). They are so comfortable because they use real leather and they almost get "broken in" and start to mold to your foot. The only thing they screwed up was a color on the shoe (I don't know how the hell you mess up the color "Teal" and instead use "Dark Blue" but other than that the actually shoe is really nice.) And yes I was pissed, but they gave me a free tshirt.

My Kanamas have arrived (holy hell that was fast) and I'll pick them up and go workout in them after work on the morrow. I'll do a mini-review after.

Botevs were great for a year with wide fat... They're seriously falling apart though after ~18-20 months. I know that most of my lifting buddies get a lot more use out of of their shoes than I have.

Ditto on the VS Athletics shoes. I went with the white leather, not the black suede. I hear the leather holds up longer and doesn't stretch. I wear a US10 running shoe and ordered a 9.5 from VS and they are nice and snug.
Anyway, I have had mine for a solid 2 months-ish and they are holding up just fine. Not bad for $80 if you don't want to shell out the $120 for the Rogues or the Pendlays.

I have the white ones as well, I liked how they looked better than the black ones.

As promised, here's my short review of the Kanama shoes I ordered:
The shoes arrived in one business day, though I do live in the next city. Nevertheless, prompt service. I'm told Hani Kanama is also good to deal with. Very helpful.
They came in an actual shoebox, not just some cardboard box as expected. They were wrapped in plastic bags individually. That was already a plus.
The shoes themselves are navy blue and grey with Kanama stitched in the back of the shoes, not the grey and black I had expected. Still, they look nice in an understated way. If you like flashy shoes, this one isn't your cup of tea.
The shoe's leather was excellent quality, very soft. The stitching was well done, not a bad stitch on it. The construction feels very durable and I would assume these shoes would last for at least a few years if you look after them. The construction and attention to detail easily rivals the Adidas shoes I've seen. Even the velcro strap on it looks and feels sturdy.
As for fit, I'm a US size 11 and they fit true-to-size. They are very comfortable. They felt great when I first put them on. I can see how Kanama says his shoes mold your feet like a glove.
I did some snatches and squatting in them; very stable and supportive. No ankle roll, no slipping. Squatting was a breeze. The heel feels about the right height for me at 6'1".
Time will tell how they hold up, but otherwise, worth getting from my initial impression and use.

2009 Rogues are amazing.
Adistars have a higher heel than ironworks, 2009/2010 Do-Wins (Pendlay, Rogue, VS) seem to have a similar heel to the ironworks.
Ive seen Do-Wins stay in shape for years, and adistars that fall apart after a year, but also vice versa.
If you use the shoes just to lift in, you should get years out of any brand.

Do you guys order a half size smaller because they're supposed to fit tight?
Being a real lifter is not about a number, or a medal, or somebody else telling you that you are a real lifter. It is about commitment to the iron and strength of purpose.

If you're ordering for yourself, Pendlay reccomends ordering a size-and-a-half smaller for women for his shoes.
