Wooden heavy bag stand for apartments

    http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/shenand...t/Martial.html

I'm in an apartment right now and want to hang heavy bag. Those metal stands didn't work very well sadly (took up too much space and slid around too much.)

The wooden rack/stand seems like a pretty good alternative though. Looks very easy to make, doesn't take up much space, doesn't damage the interior, and looks pretty functional. I've never done anything like this before though. Good idea or bad idea?

That thing looks huge. Take a look at something like this that you mount on the wall.

The only thing that scares me is when you say: "I've never done anything like this before though."

I guess if you can figure out from these directions exactly what to do you will be fine.

D know that there is a good chance this will mar the wall, and it must be set in a corner for support it wouldn't be completely free standing.

I wish I could use something like that. I'm worried that the walls won't support it though. Sounds like its dry wall. Stud finder doesn't show up enough wood to mount anything.
