it's fish, which i believe is pretty lean so i would say yes, tilapia is a good source of protein.

I used to have tilapia twice a week for a month

it's delicious and a good source of protein

but even with 300g of tilapia, I felt like I ate nothing

yeah great protein, easy to eat alot of it without feeling full

I know its not the same thing, but scallops are crazy for protein. 4 big scallops are around 20 grams of protein, last week I took in over 80 grams of protein with one meal of them, wasnt even close to full afterwards. Plus they taste better than fish imo.

Tilapia is a horrible protein source. for protein i recommend carbs like rice and pastas. Dun need more than 50g of protein a day brah, or else your kidneys will explode

Aside from tilapia and salmon, mackerel is a good source of protein as well.
    Its usually cheaper than salmon.

Ya I know. I've said it several times in the misc that food preparation is the hardest part of bodybuilding for beginners. I made a thread on it in the nutrition section

    http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=124546261

It takes quite a while to cook if you don't know what you're doing and so that's why levrone probably had others do it for him. Most people wouldn't recognize culinary skills as having anything to do with bodybuilding but IMO that's where most beginners fail. I would also go as far as saying that's why people blame their shortfalls on "genetics". No sorry man, the importance of genetics on bodybuilding is way overplayed. Food prep is why people can't gain/lose weight, not genetics.

    Really?

I cooked mine in the oven with some Southwest Chipotle and it tasted like plastic. Seriously, it was by far the worst tasting thing I ever had. Never bought Tilapia after that.

I don't know what went wrong, seems like a lot of people really like it.

I usually eat 2 chicken breasts, 2 8oz servings of ground beef and 2 salmon fillets (1 serving - 40g prot) in a day. Seems to do me well.

    I love my beef.

Food prep is why people can't gain/lose weight, not genetics.
i'm gonna have to start doing this. i'm getting tired of cooking individual meals 3-4 times a day
