So the plan is obviously to jump higher, so all of these exercises will be done while jumping. Not positive but I'm thinking about doing a set with resistance/weight and then one without and so on. So what should I buy? My ideas:
1. Plyometric Boxes.
2. Vertical Jump Trainer http://www.amazon.com/Lifeline-Verti...l+jump+trainer
3. Weighted Belt
4. Medicine Balls
Your thoughts on which would be the best for increasing how high I jump? Also, any other suggestions for equipment which would help w/ this?

Thanks, that's really cool, never seen that! I do have 2 major complaints about it however. Repped.
1. It's almost 2,000$.
2. Couldn't I do literally the exact same thing with this? It's 600$ http://www.amazon.com/Body-Solid-GSC...+squat+machine

Maybe that's the problem...I don't know what a Glute Ham Raise is. I've tried roman chairs, side bends and sit ups on both a Glute Ham Raise machine and a roman chair at the gym. For those it felt the exact same to me. I might answer my own question because i'm about to look, but can you post a video of what exactly a "glute ham raise" is?

If you want to increase your vertical jump;
1) Increase flexibility
2) Get a good base level of strength using squats, lunges, split squats, etc
3) Perform plyometricsMy training log:

Google "strength shoes". They are FANTASTIC for increasing your vertical leap. Though not a basketball player, I learned about them while being a Division 1 football player in the early/mid 90s. I, at the time, was 5'11 (still am!) and 225 and I went from just being able to touch the rim to being able to dunk a basketball one handed. The science behind it is simple-- you are overloading the calf muscles CONSTANTLY while wearing them and doing various sprints, box jumps etc. Improves sprinting etc. ATI now makes them. Only problem is they look a little goofy-- many may remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer was wearing them after being at the dentist (drooling from anesthesia) and the one guy thought he was disabled. Anyway, GREAT training tool.

I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but.....
1. Squat jumps.
2. Box jumps.
How do you get good at doing something? You do it....
On the Squat Jumps, when you land, do so on the balls of your feet, not your heels or you'll be radiating that impact nicely into your knees. Landing on the balls of your feet take away some of the impact. Overall strength is good, but you're going to need to work on your explosiveness realistically."Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"
