in a word....NO DONT quit lifting. lifting burns more caloires and fat than cardio EVER thought about. just lift however is comfortable for you (but keep it challenging) and do some cardio afterwards for about 15-20 mins. keep it simple. rest about 2 days/weeks and have a cheat MEAL once a week. create a deficit from your maintenace. if your eating under maintainence enough and lifting and cardio you WILL lose the fat and weight! lifting is essential! i wish i wouldve known about lifting when i started in november last year id look completely different right now. just keep it up and it WILL work. you sound like a slow fat loser like me....trust me it just takes time.

No, dont stop lifting. Body weight is just a number. It doesnt take into account the fat to muscle ratio. If you want to burn fat, lookup some information on interval training. There are plenty of awesome workouts on this site. Its pretty common to lose strength while loosing weight. Make sure you are getting enough protein and sleep to repair your muscles.
thats all I got.

You probably feel sluggish and weak because of your calorie deficit. On a workout day, eat a lil more carbs before the workout. And all in all..eat a lil bit more on your workout day to feel less sluggish. On "rest days" take it easy on the food..strictly stay in your caloric deficit.
Another thing to do..is to swtich up your workout routine at the gym. You're probably feeling sluggish to even go to the gym, and when you're there you might feel the urge to not give it 100%. Try a new program like 5x5 training to make your lifts more fun. Lifting heavy with low reps is actually fun. I always look forward going to the gym now than compared with my days when I'd lift 12 reps for 3 sets with moderate weight.

Lifting can burn the same amount of calories as cardio depending on intensity while giving the added benefit of muscle creation/loss prevention. For weight loss, they both do the same thing; lifting just makes you look better. Keep lifting.

..
NO MAN.. trust me major mistake..
cardio will make you lose weight.. not body fat.. to guarentee that all is lost is body fat you have to plug in other things into the equation.
Plus yoru body is extremely good at adapting to cardio (unless its HIIT) and other steady-paced exercises. To get study results you have to take yourself out of your comfort zone. Its easier to do that with weight/intensity based exercises because you can either increase weights or speed. You'll never find someone that was overweight that ran their way to a six pack. They did cardio supplementary to intense weight training.Last edited by seifelbadrawy; 05-18-2010 at 12:11 AM.
