How much weight should i lift? Starting

Well, it's been one week since i started with abs and weight lifting. I own a barbell that can be adjusted with 22 pounds or 44 pounds. This first week, i made my routine with 22 pounds (11 on each side).

How long should i keep doing them with that weight?

    Extra info:
    Im 21
    Height: 6'1
    Weight : 187
Im using the "truth about six pack abs" workout
My objective is losing body fat. (Mon/Wed/Friday = Weight lifting and abs) (Tuesday and Thursday = cardio).

Excuse my bad english (currently learning)

the point is to get stronger each workout, not lift a certain weight for as long as you feel like. get on a good routine, look at the stickied threads in the workout program forum

no, you should listen to what i said and do something productive instead of what you are doing right now, unless you enjoy mediocrity.

Whoa, thanks a lot, i knew i was doing something wrong, it was so easy, its just that i didnt knew anything bout the subject. I guess i'll add as much weight as i can.

Also, thanks for the info about the stickies very helpful.

P.S : I've read in some places that: more reps + less weight = Leaner
less reps + more weight = Bulky
But in other places i've also read that more weight is WAY better to lose fat.
What do you think bout that?

Again, thanks for the info sabonis

That is an old wive's tale.

You need to figure out your goal, and tailor your workout for that. Chances are you will either need to invest in some form of gym membership, or invest in more weights for your home gym.

    Rule of thumb:
    Generally 1-5 reps is strength.
    6-12 reps is hypertrophy
    13+ is endurance

The closer to one side emphasizes that goal more. Also don't think just because you have 4 reps you won't grow at all, just you will grow less than 6 or 8 reps, etc etc. This isn't exact, just rule of thumb.
