scored me my back extension machine today. Body Solid, its used, but looks brand new. $76. Not a steal, but a good price none the less. and it wasn't craigslist, play it again sports...the little spot on the pad was just the film from the price tag.Not stopping cut till I look good "douche'n it up" by running without a shirt

What do you think this is worth? If I was to sell off what I don't need (I'm looking for a power rack with lat pulldown, bench, and weights)
would an offer of 800 or 850 be worth it?Last edited by Saureus; 04-15-2012 at 05:24 PM.

just scored me a powertec power rack with the dip bars, 200lb of weights, bar and a tuff stuff bench for 300 bones!!! cost me almost 100 in gas, but still a good price given the added weights and bench. all in in new conditions, weights still have stickers on them.
Now if i can unload my Apex half rack, for 350 or so, i will be out 50 bucks on my new power rack!!! Wish me luck!
updated...uploaded pics. didn't include the weights...i figured you all know what 200 lbs of weights looks like...

Thanks! They are TDS dumbbells. I'm in the process of hitting them with the wire brush. They are cleaning up very nicely. I'm psyched.
Guy said he will keep an eye out for the missing ones, but even without them 685 lbs of DBs for $75 and a nice rack was an amazing deal.()---() York Barbell Club #5 ()---()

I picked up a Parabody Bench 874 with leg attachments for $80. The thing is brand spankin new, the previous owner bought it and let it collect dust.
I also picked up 290lbs of bumper plates used for about $330. I think they're rogue bumpers as the guy had a ton of rogue items, but he wasn't sure because there were no markings. Steel inserts, colored bumpers.
How'd I do schwag wise, any opinions?? Also I think I need a budget bar next, I'm not sure how comfortable I am dropping $500+ on a bearing bar if I'm not that comfortable with my OLY lifts. What would you guys recommend if I'm looking to get into the olympic discipline, bar wise? Budget is a huge factor for me.

Not bad I think. Bench seems a decent deal. Not an expert on Bumper prices but doesn't sound too bad.
If you not looking to break the bank on a bar and want a decent bar that is versatile check out the OB-86B bar. Should be able to get it around $150. Best value out there IMO (I own one as well lol). Here's a thread on the bar: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...ghlight=OB-86B.

Thanks for the link oldskooler, thats exactly what I was looking for!! You guys are awesome!! I think Northernmoris is right about the bumpers being Wright. I'll post up pictures when I get home, just super happy that my gym has come together so nicely. I've been scouring craigslist for the last two months and am pretty happy with most of the deals I got. I now have a matching Parabody Power rack with Lat/row attachment, Parabody bench, parabody dip station, weights and all for relatively cheap. The only thing I purchased new were the Shermworks dumbbell spotters, 18" dumbbell handles, and rings that I have coming in because I couldn't find anything on craigslist. I think I'm addicted to craigslist. Haggling, dealing, finding that perfect deal, its been a learning experience and most of my purchases were influenced by this site. Thanks again doods!

Actually I got them down here in SoCal!! Really pumped about all my new equipment, I'm just shopping around for bars, I am definitely leaning towards the OB-86B, but am kind of entertaining the idea of the rogue bar or Pendlay NexGen. My biggest fear is a bar is a bar, that I won't be able to tell the difference between premium bars and cheaper bars besides strength of steel. I've never held a good bar. My question is what makes the rogue/pendlay better than the OB86b especially if they're both designed for OLY lifts but not to comp specs, aside from strength abuse/tolerances. I know I read that decent bushing bars are just as good as most needle bearing, does this include the OB86B? (all this is OLY lift specific) Sorry for the off topic rant, its something that I have been trying to research and coming up short.

Heh, sent him an email two hours after it was listed last night, and a follow up today.
No word yet, I figure the seller is working and doesn't have a smartphone or something.
Hopefully be able to get hooked up tonight, or at least find out if somebody else will.
Thanks for the heads up()---() York Barbell Club #5 ()---()

A bar isn't just a bar in regards to upgrading from the cheap bars that come with most sets. However, I've never owned a premium bar so I can't help you there. The OB-86B is my "premium" bar lol.
Here's a forum member review of the CAP bar: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...ghlight=OB-86B
Also, scroll to the post #22 here: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...ghlight=OB-86B
Make sure when you searching, you look for 0B-86B as I think there's a 0B86B which is not the same bar.

I had my eye on one when I was going back to NH to visit my dad but the guy lived in a questionable area so I decided against it as I'd have to go there at night. Wanted a $100 for a vintage York 1500 lb rated chrome vanadium. Would have been happy with that. Used equipment is scarce up here, so I went in another direction and still keeping an eye out for a deal on a second bar.
It comes down if tennisfeq86 has a bar that he can use right now or not. If so, looking on CL for a deal is a great option. If not and he wants to start working out right away, then buying/ordering one is the best option in the immediate (and he can still keep an eye out if he wants).

As far as Oly lifts go, the OB-86B is a good bar for the as it has some whip and no central knurling. Pendlays are much better oly bars and their bushing bar is very good, the bearing bar is better but not enough to warrant the cost. Just realize that if it's one bar that you want for everything, you'll eventually be disappointed. Deadlifts and squats are more comfortable with stiffer bars.

Bah! The guy got back to me. "Not officially sold yet but a guy is very interested and coming this week sometime."
I guess somebody else got in touch with him in the two hours I slacked, OR somebody emailed and offered more than his asking price (which in retrospect, I should have done myself). Ahh well. The yard sale season is young, and college students aren't leaving town en masse yet.()---() York Barbell Club #5 ()---()
