Some of his prices are good (right around what I sell for), but some are way too much. I'm sure he's getting them for the going $200 per machine rate for bulk purchases. I could just never imagine putting all of this stuff around my yard under tarps. My fiance would kill me.

I'm getting powerblock classic 45s from CL for $200 (no stand) ... I really want ironmasters, but after missing them the other day I think this is the way to go for now. Will these flip at $225-$250 if I keep them in good condition?

For 45lb powerblock that price is too high and you won't really be able to flip for what you are looking for. I was in Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday and saw them for $235 without the stand. If you look on CL you can find the 45's for $100-150.

Hopefully someone here can score some nice powerblocks in a year after they get frustrated with no one wanting to pay that much. I also tried talking the woman into breaking up the package & lowering the price but no dice. I was hoping someone here with a silver tongue could get the job done.

Powerblocks don't really depreciate, I just sold a set of sport 5.0s for 275. Either just buy the U125s new or save a little and get some used, it's not worth waiting around and looking for a deal on CL.

I kept wondering if I paid too much, but I have nothing but good feedback to report on their performance during workouts. Plus, there has not been a set in my area come back up for sale since I bought them. Really glad there in my home weightroom. They did not come with a stand and I have never seen a stand on cl in my area. has anyone ever seen just a stand for sale? I'll eventually bite the bullet and pay the $150 or so for a new stand.

EDIT: Figured out these were not the upgradable version. (Classic 45) Flipped 'em for $260. Sold in a day, with no photo. (Seller was going to pay $275, but I couldn't find my keys to meet him halfway, offered the discount instead)

P90x has generated a strong demand for dumbells.

I'm on the fence about getting a pair of these for keeps. I've got hex 5-50 +65... the power blocks feel pretty nice, but I do prefer the hex slightly. Savings of money & space will probably win out in the long run.

ya 400 is a good average price and if you dont damage them at all... you can sell them for that or make 50 bucks maybe on them in a few years if need be...

as for the stand... the old white stands are not anything special... they are kinda flimsy feeling and although they work just fine and can hold even the 130s... I dont think they are worth buying on new... you could easily build something out of wood that would be better suited or if you do buy one get one of the grey versions they sell that is more soild looking... ive seen stands on CL before... another thought is to just wait it out and hopefully someone sells a set of PBs with stand on CL and you buy them and re sell the blocks only for what you paid or minus a few bucks at worst... (keeping the stand)

Concept 2 Rower - $400

Looks to be a model C w/ a monitor. Pretty good price considering it's from a used sporting goods store who normally prices their stuff near retail.


As for the lat pulldown above. $100 is a good deal if it is in decent condition and smooth. If the guy is close enough go take a look. Also, at that price it's probably plate loaded, so make sure it works with your weights. If it has a weight stack, that is an awesome deal.
