Those are good prices for sure, whether its a good fit in a home gym is up to the individual. If you're going to put those in your home gym, you should know what you want and why you're eating up real estate for it. You'll also need more room (generally speaking), unless of course there's only a couple of machines you really want to have to compliment your free weights.
The good news is, that guy has those priced at a point you can probably unload them if you don't like them. The only thing that would concern me, especially since you don't have familiarity with the machines, is that you need to be careful to not buy machines you can't sell. Some machines are not that popular and since any home gymer is going to typically have the same space concerns as the next....they're going to be wanting to use their space on stuff they're going to use.
It looks like he has more than just the pics, so at those prices...if you're looking to get some stuff...this might at least be worth a drive over to see what he has.
Good luck.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

See the two weight pegs on the rear cross bar? These racks are the same = China imports just different colors and stickers.Last edited by donforeman; 02-05-2012 at 09:26 PM.

Ahh good eye bro! I never would've caught that myself cause i'm new to all this equipment stuff. I asked him if he could send me maybe some better pics and if he knew what the brand was. He just sent me this picture and said its a power rack.

Speaking of free stuff... it's not exactly that amazing, but I got 200 lbs. of great condition York standard weights, a couple of dumbbells, a cambered curl bar, a barbell, and a triceps bar (all spin-lock), plus a 20 lb. hex dumbbell for free today.
I called the guy within a half hour of the listing but I guess I was the first person interested

I'm not too familiar with buying equipment (never have) so I'm looking for some advice. I'm planning to get a power rack for the garage and so I'm looking for some weights. I came across this ad on Craigslist, does it look like a decent deal?
h ttp://bakersfield.craigslist.org/spo/2834179761.html < I can't post links yet, sorry!
--------------------------------
Over 700 Lbs of Olympic Weights
(more specifically:
Six-45's
Seven-35's
Two-25's
Seven-10's
Twelve-5's
Five-2.5
Total: 707.5 Lbs),
a +7 ft 45 Lb long Bar, an Olympic EZ Curl Bar and and Olympic Dumbell Handle Bar All for $349.
I will even throw in two Benches, One for bench press and the other is a long decline Bench. Plus a weight tree to hold the weights.
--------------------------------
I realize that some of the plates might be undesirable and go unused (the odd number of 35's, 10's, 2.5's, as well as the large amount of 10's and 5's). I might get some use out of the extra plates once I start pulling heavier weights (since I'll only have the six 45s). I'd be paying ~50 cents/lb, if I were just looking at the plates. Some of the plates will go unused, but I'm wondering if all the other things thrown in make this deal worth it? I do not have a barbell, ez curl bar, bench, or weight tree. I didn't realize until recently that benches can be pretty expensive--I don't know if the brand of this bench would be enough to make/break the deal. Would anyone happen to know what brand the plates in the 1st picture are? The poster did not know. Also, the plates in the 2nd picture say "STANDARD". I know there are "standard" (1" diameter) plates, but I've seen some olympic plates like this before. Is Standard a company? Are these good plates? (A quick google search did not help me). Thanks in advance for any answers!

So locally someone is selling a body solid smith machine, with FID. Squat rack by para body, sit up bench, dip rack, dumbbells from 10-95 sans 65,70,75 with a rack. I asked for model numbers on benches, racks, and to make sure the dumbbells are in 5lb increments.
Asking 1500 only selling as a lot. Thoughts?

body solid smith with FID = $250
parabody rack = $200
parabody dip rack and sit up bench = $75
dumbbells and rack = $650
total = $1175
keep in mind these prices are fair.. and really only worth paying $1200 for if you plan on keeping this stuff. try to get a better deal than that even. it would be more worth it if it came with olympic weights and bars

5N85G15Ka3Kb3J93Hcc24842fdaf7ca231662.jpg Hey kyle I'm from Bakersfield too. I am pretty sure the standard barbell plates are made by cap and i wouldn't pay more than .45 cents for them. The first picture i cant make out the brand but maybe one of the more knowledgeable members can tell. Do you know the brand of the benches? In my opinion this is an average deal unless the benches are quality. the best advise i can give you is to be patient looking for equipment on craiglists dont buy the first thing you see.The seller also has an ad to trade for the weights if you have anything he wants. if you are interested I am selling a powerline power rack and a body solid fid bench for $175. This is a picture of the unknown plates if anyone can help.

4,060lb of rubber-coated Ivanko dumbbells (3 sets of 10lb-60lb and 1 set of 65lb-110lb) + 4 twin-tier dumbbell racks for $2,200 on the Jersey shore / Central NJ. That's around $0.50/lb for high-quality dumbbells... hopefully someone can make some money off this deal.
