I think you're right on both counts. If you scroll further down the auction they have close-ups of the various equipment from different angles. On the pullover machine, the chains are rusty and the seat is falling apart at the bottom. But I should think that a new coat of paint and some other TLC could put it back in working order.

Decent deal?
Getting for $320:
250 pounds of rubber TKO tri-grip Olympic plates
This bench: http://www.ultimatesportsequipment.c...ose-fid-bench/
Some kind of two-piece squat/bench press unit
TKO 700lb Olympic Barbell unused
TKO $100 EZ bar
I plan on reselling the squat/bench press unit, not quite sure what it is yet. I also plan on reselling the bench. I hope to get $50 for each, so I get $100 back. Then I'll keep the rest.

My deadlift/squat are warranting a bump to three plates - so I was scouring all the local sporting good stores for the "$0.50/pound" deal I've seen preached in this thread so many times. Turned up empty, but I hit Craislist and *finally* found a good deal out of St. Louis...
I got two 45-pound plates for $45, and a dragging sled for $50 - EliteFTS sells theirs for $180 + $40 shipping.

Fifty cents a pound for new weight sets might be a thing of the past from the retailers, as China has raised their prices. I saw a 300lb set for $179 (Dunhams) and a 225lb set for $149 (Dick's)in todays Black Fridays ads. Your best bet is Craiglist as people sell stuff that is like new all the time.

(Can't post pictures yet, so added the space at the beginning)

Ironmaster Super Bench with Chip up, Dip, and Situp attachments.

He also included the rubber mat and plywood. Got it all for $525!
As far as the extra weight plates go, does anyone think they would sell on Craigslist alone?

That is a great deal! The weights probably won't sell on craigslist by themselves. Some people buy extra IM handles, so if you see a pair go up for sale, try to get those.
Pair the handles (10 lbs x 2) up with 130 lbs of weights = 150 lbs total. This makes a 75-lb set which can sell for about $350 used.
You'd have 65 lbs less in your weights, but they would still go up to 90lbs.
ORRRR.... forget all that, keep the plates in case something strange happens. I don't think they're big enough for standard poles, so it's hard to pass them off as standard plates.
You could also go the ebay route. 5-lb plates sell for $10 new, you have an extra 13 of those, so you could make close to $100 on ebay (if anyone buys).

Damn you craigslisters....damn you. I now have another subforum addiction.
There are many awesome deals you guys are posting. My word. I juat came here to Check out squat racks. But dayumm, a person could actually make a side income out of this if he should choose huh? Many of you here just buy and resale cause you already have everything you need? Not stopping cut till I look good "douche'n it up" by running without a shirt

Currently I am just cherry picking the deals on equipment that I would like to upgrade. Once I have everything that I want though, I plan on making a little extra cash selling equipment on the side.
Tonight I called about a fairly new Airdyne that was listed at $100. I think I was a bit too late on it though as someone is currently going to look at it in 10 minutes.

Thats nice. I have a half rack, but really need to upgrade as i want to get serious, like puke in my mouth serious with my squats. Haha, need dat dur spotter bar. But yeah, i saw that leg press for free to whoever picks it up? What?! I am sure you could get a couple bills for that easy. I also have the added benefit of my bro being an auto upholster, so reconditioning some of these benches and such could be dirt cheap for me.
Deffenitally (spelling sux on that word i know. I suck so bad spell check cant even correct me on it haha.) gonna have to subscribe to this thread. Not stopping cut till I look good "douche'n it up" by running without a shirt

Found this in Hartford CT.
Newbie so I can't post a link.
PowerTec Workout Bench with Weights - $180 (Redding, CT)
The PowerTec workout bench inclines, lays flat and declines. It also has the leg lift feature for a full upper and lower body workout. I'd like to get $180 for it which is about half the price of a new one of this quality. It is in excellent condition. 120 pounds of disc weights are included for the leg lifts.

If someone can go to the link and tell me what they think the bench is worth, I might get it.

2 100lbs plates and a leverage squat machine for $200.00. Looks like Body-solid not sure of brand. If it were closer I'd flip and keep the plates....

Damn this thread. So hear is what i have found.
http://springfield.craigslist.org/spo/2723125895.html
Power rack, bar, bench, almost 300lbs of weights, and the plate tree for $250. That is pretty much a steal isnt it? I dont need the bench, bar or even the weights really, so i could probably flip it all with my apex gym pictured in link below keep the power rack and possibly profit or at least get it for free couldnt i?
http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys...product-images
It also is 100 miles away from me.
Thanks for any responsesNot stopping cut till I look good "douche'n it up" by running without a shirt
