FYI: I got mine for $80 with an original asking price of $125 and that was when "out of production" made it MORE desirable.. His timing for selling (imo) makes it less desireable. and yes, I still love the bar.
EDIT: (I'm not sure about the 7' bar)
My memory was correct about price.. around $200 shipped.
Here's so more info (was in a hurry)..
The Ivanko 6' EZbar being discussed is refered to as the OBZ-40.. It came new with a matching pair of COT1.25 compression collars, so make sure those are included.. They're awesome collars and Ivanko isn't producing them in the black oxide finish anymore, at least individually (wonder if they will still come with the new OBZ-40's???).
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...vanko+curl+bar
Here's an old thread that discusses the OBZ-40 and has some nice pics. This is actually the thread that I used to help identify mine before purchase.
As far as the 7'er goes, I admitedly don't know too much about them but I'd likely spend $150 on one.. As always try to get a few bucks off if you can.

No problem. $200 would be an awesome buy.. even if he counters a bit higher you could still get a pretty good deal.

I purchased my 6ft Ivanko bar from Ivanko in the last couple of years and the collars were not included but had to be purchased separately. They were however included with both the 4ft and 5ft bars. Its possible that these collars were included at an earlier date and that practice had stopped by the time I purchased mine.

Interesting.. I had thought all Ivanko EZ bars came with collars. I also thought that the thread I linked was about an OBZ-40 but it's about an OBZ-30.. Shows what happens when you're in a rush.

I was a little surprised that I had to pay extra too, I had assumed they would come with the collars.
I have 2 20s, 2 30s, and 1 40 all in black oxide. I use the 20 for curls and standing ext, 30 for bent over rows, and the 40 for tricep and bench work in the rack.

Isn't that just a CAP bar that you'd get with a 300 lb set at Dicks? $55 seems high to me....

I agree, that's one of those cases where he bought the set on black friday for $150 and he's trying to recoup as much as he can. Maybe worth $25, but definitely not worth anything to me.

Is this a good deal?
PowerBlock U90 stage I (50lbs) with stand for $225 plus about $50 of gas and a lot of driving but an excuse to go to a bigger city. I talked him down from $275. He probably won't go lower than $225.
I don't care about the stand. The U90 is the model that I want but these are only the base model. If I get the dumbbells, I'd need to buy the upgrade kits for it... at least stage II (70lbs) though stage III (90lbs) would be much more desirable. --that will add a few hundred also.
PowerBlock won't transfer warranties --so no warranty.

i wouldnt do it. you are spending $275 (and no warranty). retail for u90 stage I is around $379. some retailers will even knock some off that. you are also putting the miles on your car and using up a good chunk of a day. i usually need to be saving more than $100 for that. with PB's i would want the warranty.
just my opinion.

Thanks! I passed.
I did pick up some more used plates on Craigslist and on my way back I stopped by used sporting goods store and tried out some of the gear that I had previously only seen in photos, including all the PowerBlock stuff.... U90s, utility bench, sport bench, pullup and dip attachments. I wish they had the Ironmaster stuff also but they didn't. Unfortunately, no Ivanko stuff. They did have a Hoist 4165 FID bench (link below) which was very nice but the pad on the back seemed narrow to me.

http://www.hoistfitness.com/consumer...t/hf-4165.aspx
They also had the Hoist folding bench --I was very disappointed in it.
