    Red face cereal before bed??

i have the bad habit of eating before bed. most of the time is a couple servings of kashi cereal, with soymilk. other times, it's stuff like oatmeal, peanut butter, yogurt....i know, i'm weird. but, anyhow, when i wake up in the morning it's so discouraging to see a couple extra pounds on the scale that i know are probably just the result of the food...riiighhht??? anything better to eat before bed if i must? i know i should eat my calories earlier in the day, but it's kind of a "comfort thing" to go to bed with something in my tummy!!

You could still have cereal before bed as long you meet and dont exceed your daily targeted calories/macros.

Other choices (like you stated): Cottage cheese, PB, whey, yogurt, oats, etc..

I do the same thing right before bed. Some cereal, CC, PB, yogurt, and Milk. yes its quite a hefty snack but i fit it into my macros =) The same thing happens to me with the weight. Sometimes i go up but give it a few days to adjust and ur weight should go back down to normal. Just give it time, if u see that your weight is progressively increasing then try to have a smaller serving and see what happens

Eat your cereal, don't go over your daily calories. It does not matter if you eat before bed. My schedule is pretty hectic so I usually end up eating about 1500 calories for dinner between 10pm-12am. It sucks but sometimes it has to be done with school from 7:30-2:30 and then work from 3:30-9.

Ive read there's nothing wrong with eating before bed, as a matter of fact in some cases depending on your goals its better, as long as you are meeting your daily calorie intake. Cottage Cheese or a casein protein (something that digests slower) would be best before bed from what I've been learning

It does not matter what you eat before bed or when you eat in fact. The ONLY thing that matters in terms of body composition and weight loss is Calorie in/Calorie out and Macronutrient breakdown.

False. There are scenarios where nutrient timing matters, just not the 'anabolic window' myth. At least 2 well designed studies show eating most of your calories in the morning and training later in the day is inferior to eating the same things spread over the day or later in the day.

Also, many nutrients besides macronutrients matter for body composition. Think of phytochemicals, most supplements, vitamins, minerals, etc.

Meal timing really doesnt matter, just don't go over your daily calories and you shouldn't gain weight.
