low carb = low thyroid, test ?????

I have been doing low carb / keto on and off for a few months and recenty got my bloodwork done, it shows slightly lowered T3 and testosterone (both way under the minimum normal value) I was really shocked .. Could this be caused by low carb? Should i up the carbs for a few months? Any suggestions, experiences?

It actually can however a few months seems a little quick, most studies done show that keto can have negative effects on hormones on a very long term basis however when done properly it shouldn't really be an issue.

You could always add carbs get retested in a couple months and see. Is there a particular reason you aren't eating carbs?

Are you taking any supplements or pharmaceuticals that could be influencing your T3?
