5x5 on a muscle split? help

Is it a good idea to just add 5x5 on a core lift while still doing a muscle split routine.
For example. Chest day just do 5x5 on incline bench after warming up and then continue with your normal chest routine of 8-10 reps on everything else. Or for back doing a 5x5 set on barbell rows and continuing your normal routine.
Would this be beneficial in increasing strength and size because I feel as if 5x5 programs rob you of the deep muscle tears I love.

this is actually a very good idea, it will help you to add both thickness and size and like you said before will help to fully exaust the muscle.

    i say go for it!

5x5 is actually pretty exhausting if you do it right especially when you start to set PR's every week.

Thanks for the advice. I did my Chest workout today with this implemented and it was pretty killer. I finished 17 sets of chest in 45 minutes!
