I've been taking cold showers every 1-2 days, sometimes multiple times a day. Not by choice, it is all I have, but it does wonders for you. I'm not sure about all that blood flow crap and the increases in hormones, but it really does wake you up in the morning. It also improves your ability to put your mind over matter. The ability to walk into an ice cold shower (my water is in a tank outside, so it's about the same temperature without thinking twice on a cold winter morning, doesn't get more manly than that.

Morning wood is also a big problem a lot of guys have, cold showers solve that one real quick. Another cold showers have to offer is that after a couple months of taking them and not taking a hot shower, a hot shower feels like a million bucks. I took one with a hangover about a month ago, first time in a year. Spent 45 minutes in there

anybody else dislike hot showers after getting used to cold showers?

when i turn the heat on, i get the same reaction now that i got when i first started taking cold showers.. it feels like a bunch of needles are hitting me.

I've been taking cold showers since I first posted on this thread nearly a month ago and I've found my body has adapted well to the cold.

I can just turn on the cold water and walk right into it like an emotionless cyborg

Same here. I used to have to psych myself up, now I can walk right into no problem. I don't even shiver afterward anymore.

cold shower really helped me when i had my football spring camp

practice on Friday
3 a day on Saturday
1 practice on Sunday + a game

never had a single cramp +..... i was on a cut

With all the stress going on in my life right now, I think I will try this.

I use to be able to meditate but, just cant anymore, The only time I have sollitude is when I have Heavy metal blasting in my ears and lifting heavy...can't do that all day.

I think when I get home from workout this evening I shall try this.

So start out with Warm water, maybe go ahead and wash. Then slowly start to turn the water to cold.

I'd say a good 5 minutes is enough. But you gotta be under the coldest possible water for 5 min, not medium temp for 2, then gradually until 5.

Funny how fast you get used to it, I kinda acclimated myself to it, and at first it was like I couldn't get it cold enough till the warm water was off all the way, feels good man...wakes your ass up too.

I tried it briefly today because I didn't have enough time but I slowly turned the warm water off and it felt good.

since this thread I start teh shower with medium/slightly colder than luke warm water than slowly turn it colder throughout the shower. than at the end I turn it down till it's cold but not ice and walk out feeling refreshed

cold showers make waking up in the morning so damn easy.

i used to be lethargic for 2-3 hours after waking up.

after a cold shower, im instantly alert and energized. fuk yeah.

I took a few really fast, deep breaths the first time I tried it, too. I've been doing it for about two weeks now and I haven't had the problem since.

Happens to a lot of people. What I did was just slowly adjust the water to become increasingly colder, and just think of breathing slowly and fully, you have to convince yourself you can.

I can deal with the cold all over my body, except on the boys. that just ruins it for me.
