I have been on the calorie deficit since the day I joined the gym, i.e. 3 months(I workout 6 days a week). And I have lost 6 kgs (13 lbs approx). I have lost fat from most parts of my body now , but I can't seem to get rid of that muffin top around the waist and the lower abs region. What exercises should I be doing? Will doing any exercises help to get rid of the fat there? Or should I continue calorie deficit and the lifting?

I like to use a swimming pool analogy when it comes to this topic. Think of the process of draining a swimming pool, the shallow end will empty rather quickly as the deep end will take a bit longer (your belly area). This particular area has less blood flow, is more sensitive to insulin and has more of the receptors for hormones causing fat to be stored (alpha receptors) and less of the receptors for hormones that cause fat to be released (beta receptors). Because of this, your body draws less fat from these areas when it draws in your body's fat stores for energy.
So basically, continue to died and train hard and as you lower your over all body fat %, that area will eventually shrink down as well.
