KiltedNerd's comeback trail....
Hey guys, been lurking on the site for the past few months...There is some great information here.
I have let myself get way outta shape and have vowed to get back into competition shape by next year....
My biggest problems are my metabolism is facked and I have a circulation (swelling) problem in my leg... I am currently at 380lbs. doing (per doctor) a 50/20/30 split at 1600 calories a day... I know this sounds a bit drastic but we have tried more calories and I don't lose weight...
He wants me to lose a little more weight before I get back into working out trying to get the leg down to normal. Then he wants to get my Metabolism back into shape...Right now I am on the treadmill some and working in the yard building some raised flower beds. I sneak and throw my hammer some and do some kettle bell swings.
I will post more as I learn more.
please, no "that's way too few calories" comments. At the moment, I gain weight at 2000 calories...
I am open (and hoping) to hear any educated comments or suggestions and hope to be able to give back to the community as I go.

Breakfast
2 pieces chicken spinach and feta sausage with spicy mustard or double fiber bread
or if I am rushed - Muscle Milk Light with 30g protein and a kellog's fiber bar
Lunch
Blackened Salmon Salad with a little ranch and chopped egg.
or
Grilled Chicken with spinach and plain Sweet potato
Dinner
95% lean Ground Beef or Chicken with a large salad with tomato, banana peppers, onion, and a few black olive. for a dressing I actually use a mix of salt, pepper, parmesan, garlic powder and oregano, all dry and sprinkle it on...

Not gonna comment on the food or calories -- you asked, and so I respect your request!
In which events do you participate during Highland games? You might want to find Gnomus -- he shut down his journal here and just posts at another site now for powerlifters and stonethrowers.
Goals?
Workouts?
Anything else you want to share?
And welcome aboard!

Thanks so much for the welcome
Yeah it sux, right now I am pretty much bound by the doctor, but it does seem to have some function.... I am open to comments on the food, I just can't modify the number of calories atm....
And yes, I use to throw in the games but I have gotten way too out of shape, I would just embarass myself right now...
As far as goals, long term, I would like to be a solid 265 or so. .. right now, just taking it week by week trying to lose some pounds.
Once I get out from under the doctor's wing, I can get a solid workout going...
Me? I am just a goofball from Tennessee. I write web portal software for banks to interface an insurance company. I have a poodle and a chihuahau that are my queens. Still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up....

Hmmmmm...set a short term goal or two. Long term goals are nice, but you have to know that you're achieving them or working towards them, and short term goals help.
Workouts? If you're gonna have a journal, son, you gotta do the work!

OK got cleared to do some cardio, gonna start at 15 minutes per day and see what my fat ass can take initially. By the end of the month I want to be at at least 30 minutes per day...

Got myself a "comeback" journal too.
Got off track for 7 years and started up again in January.
Welcome to the site, and to the journals.
Good luck.

Excellent! Now, post the workouts, dude! Track it all here...it's a great way to stay accountable to yourself -- because everyone else is watching.
