I do very low impact cardio on the day I train legs. I normally do HIIT cardio but the day of legs and the day after I do low impact I find that it helps with DOMS and also keeps my legs from tightening up to much.

I like to do some HIIT on a bike with pretty high resistance to get a good final burn in while also knocking out cardio. The next day is usually some light cardio to get the muscles moving some and keep them from just being sore/tight. Other HIIT is halfway between leg days.
