creatine will slightly increase strength, and possibly size, generally for me both strength and size increase goes away when off creatine, which in turn sends me into " depression " mode, because i am smaller/weaker than i was a few weeks before, even though its not much AT ALL. to be honest its not really worth the $ to me unless you take it non-stop, never coming off.

I havent taken it in 6 months or so

You may get smaller when you get off of creatine, but that's only because creatine retains water in your muscles and when you're no longer taking it the water leaves. It's not very noticeable and your strength gains will remain. If you were to get some, but the simple creatine monohydrate. You can get a 200 serving container for about $20. So it's pretty cheap and it most definitely works. I use Dymatize Micronized Creatine, you should try it.

My bout with tendonitis has lasted over a year, and is hindering any progress. Any tips on supps for inflammation or tendon healing/strengthening would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

i have taken creatine for years and it wasnt until the other day that i found out creatine is completely a waste of money. All creatine does for you that you will notice is increased water retention which will make you look bigger. Creatine Kinase is used in the body to store energy so when theres a demand for more adenosine tri phosphate (ATP) creatine kinase will take its phosphate group its holding and give it to adenosine di phosphate and turn it into adenosine tri phosphate so your body can use it for energy. I spent almost an entire month learning about this in physiology so now i will never waste my money on creatine supplements again. your body gets enough of it from meat.

I have a cousin with BsS and MD that would tell you otherwise.
Creatine can definitely help in more ways than just muscle volumization.

It's wicked cheap. So cheap it might as well be a requirement. 40 bucks a year isn't too expensive for anyone.

You're wrong. You have an idea of the mechanism, but supplementing it allows for MORE energy because you can do more of the phosphate group exchange because your body is more saturated with creatine.

You all know nothing, you say stuff like " I hate it when people think creatine is steroids"

I hate it when people say its perfectly safe for teens to use.

You guys are risking its effects it can have on you when your older, but no one knows those effects.

F that shizz imo i wouldnt want to risk anything till im atleast 23.

    Momma's boy thinks he's a scientist.

IMO the only long term side effect is a possible shutdown of ATP production [chemical dependency] due to the external source of creatine. I don't think that will happen though.
Solution: 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off, etc.

BRB going to throw away all meat, putting it away til im 23, "F that Shizz"

You're dumb. When I started on creatine, I did exactly what the directions said: consult a doctor. I spoke to not only my father, but he spoke to other colleagues who are more versed in the subject than he is. His conclusion was that it was safe.

And you won't ever stop using ATP. That's how you have energy. If you stopped producing it, you'd, you know, die. Because everything would stop. You may decrease in natural production while on it, but you'll never stop producing it. And in your body strives for homeostasis, your natural levels will return to you very quickly.

    Jus sayin.

If you follow the directions on any creatine supplement, you will not be in excess. At all. If you're taking 100g of CM each day for like ever, yeah, that might be too much. But most people take 5-10g a day. Your kidneys can deal with that.
