I love to do the weighted crunches. My gym has a thing where you lay down on a declined ramp and can hook your feet in and do situps at an angle, hold a weight you feel good with and you'll feel an amazing burn in your abs.

    That's an oxymoron..
to build mass you eat to "tone" you cut
abs is a muscles like any other so if you wan to grow it you need to lift heavy
whatever you do add weight and add more progressively..

Weighted crunches/situps, deadlifts, squat, overhead press all of that
who says love has to be soft and gentle ?

best ab routine imo is to do rollouts w/ heavy weight, to where you can only do about 10. then superset it with 1 minute of ball crunches. i like to do 5 rounds. next morning my abs are extremely sore!

DOMS is not an indicator of progression. It's akin to the pump in that regard.

being toned comes from having low body fat
to build mass you need to train abs heavy and in hypertrophy range
abs are physiologically like every other muscle and need to be trained the same way
you dont need to be doing 3 sets of 20 for abs keep it in the 8-12 range or try going 6 sets of 5

Squats, Deadlifts and Military Press. All work the core when done correctly.

One day a week I'll do 4xreps of the ab wheel for some fun. That's it.

Weighted decline crunches, russian twists, leg raises. Maybe just some crunches on the exercise ball if my abs are still sore from the previous workout.
