Here is what they say on their site. Of course they are not going to tell you to not buy their product, but do you believe that what they say is true?
"Is there mercury in canned tuna?
Many types of seafood contain minute amounts of mercury, including tuna. The F.D.A. has set a guideline for permissible levels of methyl mercury in canned tuna at 1.0 parts per million (ppm). All Chicken of the Sea products are within that guideline. Mercury occurs naturally, is widespread in our environment and is present in many of the fruits and vegetables that we consume each day. Mercury in tuna is not present due to industrial pollution, as tuna is a deep-water fish."
Also, they say this about their canned salmon:
"Studies have shown that particles found in farm-raised salmon can be dangerous to your health.
Is Chicken of the Sea's salmon farm-raised or wild-caught?
All Chicken of the Sea salmon is wild-caught in the waters of the Pacific. None of our canned and pouched salmon, which include traditional red salmon, traditional pink salmon and boneless & skinless pink salmon, are farm-raised. High in the fatty acid omega-3, which positively impacts heart health and more, our salmon is a good source of protein and nutrients and can be enjoyed without the fear or health concerns related to farm-raised salmon."
I was under the impression no salmon out there is very healthy to eat because of PCBs.

i dont think mercury poisoning is as much of a risk for people that eat a lot of tuna as its made about to be. you gotta eat it like for every meal every day and even then its still just a risk not a sure thing.

Mercury is a huge concern. With all the pollution out there, you have to watch out for things that may have been exposed to high levels of contamination. The health department recomends that you not eat the fish out of the local river more than once a month. Too much damn pollution and mercury in the water. I eat tuna but it's not a staple in my diet.

Mercury from Tuna is a risk that's taken from every can. It's only maximized when you eat a lot because they chance of the amounts grouping together to form mercury poisoning increases. I think it's bullcrap to be honest. Our bodies have been developed over hundreds of thousands of years. Why leave a risk of such a common element being infectious?
