Whats your guys's opinion about drinking out of plastic containers and/or re-using the same one on a daily bases? I heard the plastics can be harmful. I been re-using water bottles for months now and I'm kinda hestitant on continuing to do it.

Depends. I usually have a glass/cup I use for water for a few days since I'm just used to using it. At the end of a training session I usually just throw it away in the gym or after I get to my next stop.
That being said, I have read some studies in the past that suggest some bacteria can build up over time with continued use...

I have a no BPA water bottle now and I can taste the difference. My last bottle had a weird after taste after a while. I've had the RBST one for even longer and not a problem.
However, I just found out that the metal in canned foods contains BPA in them. I wonder why people aren't bitching about that yet when the food is sometimes left in there for 6 months to a year in that crap.Last edited by kmac27; 04-24-2010 at 09:22 PM.

I hate plastic..they taste like plastic. Especially water bottles that smell like plastic. I prefer glass or stainless steel. I also have one of these: http://www.kleankanteen.com/

I found two sites stating that BPA was safe for human consumption, but this article said that it had negligable affects on birth weight and other factors which is kind of scary. Also it says canada is ready to outlaw BPA as early as may.
The american government is willing to allow its citizens to use a substance that has only major effects on a small population because it can maximize its revenue in the products that it is selling. Pretty simple, the american government doesn't give a S*** about our health unlike other countries who have a lot less health problems than we do.

Nalgene bottles are great. So are ANY BPA-free bottles. Just use them one time and run them through the dishwasher (unless you are refilling it within a very short while (minutes) to drink more - such as during a workout.
This would let you ditch the watter bottles that are a one-use deal anyway. I have about 6 BPA-free bottles and just rotate them. When I run the dishwasher, there are at least 4 in there every time.
