lol I don't recommend workout/shake/cardio unless you either like throwing up, or train like a bitch.

    lift, cardio, WHEY shake.

casein is for before bed or breakfast on off days.

I say it depends how long after your weight training you start doing Cardio. If it's immiediately after your lifting, then take it after cardio. If somehow you have a good 45min. rest time in between, then sure, you can refuel right after weights..then be perfectly ready to hit the cardio.

I was told 30-45 minutes after your workout. I drink one in the morning, after workout, and before bed with a peanut butter sandwich.

I do as follows because i also get in a good 30 min of cardio after my lifting routine.

    1. First meal of the day, i mix 16 oz nonfat milk, 1 scoop ON whey, 1 banana, 1 spoon of PB, 1 teaspoon Maca

    2. I mix whey and water and sip half throughout my workout then finish the last half or 1/3 or whatever's left after lifting...take a 5 minute breather...do my cardio then drink a 2nd whey/water shake (each shake having 1 scoop whey)

    3. 1 scoop Casein protein mixed in 12 oz milk before bed

    4. I also mix 16 oz milk with whey and have a handful of unsalted/unroasted almonds whenever I need some calories between meals

I usually do my shake during my post-workout cardio. Sipping it through a nice, 45 min, ~170 bpm cardio session

    ^this.

Studies actually show its more important to have your aminos prior to exercise than after, in relation to protein synthesis activation, which is what we all strive for. But best results is when you get your protein before and after so then it would be proper to have BCAAs post workout along with your carbs/creatine, before cardio. Then eat again about 1.5-2 hrs. post workout. Should keep Protein synthesis peaked.

Except for the fact, that casein has been shown to initiate a stronger response to the protein. So in reality it is best to have a blend protein after your workout, and not just whey.

    ^ I'd go with this.

Really, it isn't that big of a deal. The nebulus post workout window, shrinks and grows depending on who you talk to. Just get some nutrients (whether it be BCAAs, Protein shake, a chicken breast, whatever) in sometime after you workout, and you'll be fine. I personally drink BCAAs before, during and after my lifting session into my cardio session. Then when I get home, I have whichever protein based shake I am fancying for the calories.

If I finish my workout at say 8:30pm, I'll have my meal at 8:45pm and then I'll drink my shake and a peanut butter sandwich around 10pm.

I would drink my shake just after my workout, but I then find it dificult to eat my meal if I've just drank my shake.

Same here. Or I just drink my shake as soon as i step inside, then shower (give some time to digest and get hungry again) then come and eat. I usually do that when im just way too sweaty to sit down and eat.

When you cannot grab a decent high-protein meal. Nothing will take the place of high biologically available food. Post workout (regardless of cardio or not thats up to you try not dwell over too hard it will just make something simple seem very hard) seems to be at least the "best" time per majority.

On the other hand some people get the majority of protein from shakes. My friend Yg I believe takes in 200+g off the shakes and seems to be doing very well. Correct me if im wrong Yg.

    Good luck.

It depends heavily on the emphasis of cardio in your routine. If you aren't in need of fat loss, than in between is fine.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

The best time is definitely post workout usually 0-30minutes after. Then morning and you might want to before your workout I wouldn't recommend before bed especially if its whey try something like cottage cheese or Greek yogurt and milk. Hope I helped

Make sure you get plenty of protein in addition to your workouts. Protein intake can help speed up your metabolism and burn fat.The best time of the day to take protein depends on your fitness goals. Take a look at this link from Crazy Health Fact's website about when to take protein. Just google "crazy health facts best time to take protein"
