    "zero" calorie cabbage soup diet?

I'm on an 1800 cal per day fat loss plan but still find myself hungry thru out the day so I was trying to think of foods I could eat after my regular meals as 'filler' so I can feel full yet not add anymore calories for the day. Someone recently told me about this cabbage soup recipe that only contains 21 calories per serving (about a cup).

    Ingredients
3 cups nonfat beef broth or nonfat vegetable broth or nonfat chicken broth (beef is the best)
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 tablespoons tomato paste
    2 cups chopped cabbage
    1/2 yellow onion
    1/2 cup chopped carrot
    1/2 cup green beans
    1/2 cup chopped zucchini
    1/2 teaspoon basil
    1/2 teaspoon oregano
    salt & pepper

Anyone ever try this out? And also, does the calorie count sound accurate to you? If so, this might be a great way to lose fat and still feel full.

Celery by itself is highly filling and is very low on calories and is a lot easier to acquire. haha

I'd say there's more calories than 23 in that recipe for sure. Still sounds good and healthy, might try it. Cabbage always tastes great when cooked with corned beef, might be good in that recipe too.

I added brown rice into some of my meals. That fills me up fast for about 100 - 200 calories. It can keep me full for 5-6 hours, but I eat 4 meals per day instead of 6.

I see nothing wrong with adding that soup into your diet.

Supposedly it's only 21 cals PER SERVING, each serving size amounts to about a cup. BUT, I havnt actually measured everything out yet. Everything in their is extremely low cal to none so it sounds about right but I'll doulbe check to be sure.

The "Cabbage Soup" Diet cause rapid weight loss..
But if you have any kind of problems with your Thyroid - AVOID IT!

The Brassica family contains Goitrogens (Cabbage, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Kale etc).
Goitrogen ruins the Thyroid and the Thyroid can't take up Iodine either = ZERO T3 & T4.

@214, an 1800 calorie diet is an extreme cut. When i cut from 200 to 188lbs in 30 days, I used the 1800 calorie diet I lost 12 pounds in 4 weeks. 3lbs per week. 1lb too much. Try and up your calories a bit, get rid of the fast food or any kind of sugary snacks and replace it with a bag full of veggies. Most people claim they are on a 1800 calorie restricted diet, but eat **** and garbage. Which makes you very hungry.

Like JohnGalt said, 1800 might be a bit low for your size. Have you tried cutting at a higher calorie level? !800 calories is usually the minimum recommended for males.... you don't really want to be there because it doesn't leave you anywhere to go. I would try a more moderate caloric deficit and add increase your cardio rather than trying to find ways to deal with your body telling you it is starving!

Try adding Shirataki noodles into your meals. 1 serving has about 20 calories, 1 gram of fat, 1 gram of fiber, and 0 carbs.
