What is it? I need a simple weight gainer shake to drink after I workout, nothing fancy, just something that will get the job done and not cost me a ridiculous amount of money to drink some protein after I workout.
And no, don't say whey protein, I know it's there but I'd rather have a tub of some solid weight gainer for personal reasons.

LOL dont make your own mate , especially using the ingredients they suggested.
Whey protein will digest fast, You want to buy one with a mix of egg, whey, casein protein. For longer absorbtion time throughout the day. For your morning shake this is vital.
Id look at BSN True mass
Gaspari Real Mass
or maybe even critical mass if you have tougher training sessions.
best of luck choosing

No. Whey on its own digests quickly, but digestion gets slowed down by the stuff you would be combining it with. Fats (like peanut butter) and slow digesting carbs (like oats) are both particularly effective at slowing down the whey. If you still don't want to use whey, a blend would also be good, but will probably be more expensive.
Whatever you choose to do, don't buy a weight gainer.. its a total waste of money. They fill almost every commercial weight gainer with the same stuff..... that is, a TON of maltodextrin (see the ingredient list of both Real Mass and True-Mass, surprise surprise)... its high-GI empty calories and won't help you gain any quality muscle weight. Then they add some kind of protein blend. ANd these 2 things make up almost the whole thing. A ****ty carb source and a protein blend.
I'd suggest a homemade shake, something with quick oats, peanut butter, milk, and a protein source, and then whatever else you want to throw in. Something like this would be really cheap (wayyy cheaper than any weight gainer you'd buy) and would be way better for what you're trying to do:
1 cup quick oats (30 servings of quick oats usually isnt much more than 3 bucks... great source of good, low-GI nutritious carbs and cals)
2-3 cups frozen fruit
1 scoop of whey
2-3 tbsp peanut butter
Add milk (or water if its enough cals for you without the milk) until it blends
You can add more to meet your calorie or diet-specific needs. I've heard of people using olive oil or flax (healthy fats and more cals), honey (more cals), bran cereal (i use fiber one cereal and I think it makes it taste better and gives you 14g fiber per serving!), and even frozen vegetables. Ass you can see, i don't get enough fiber in my diet, and I use this gainer shake as an opportunity to fill that gap in my diet. Mess around with the recipe, find a combination that you like, and SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR A GOOD PROTEIN BLEND. All the other **** in a commercial gainer is worthless.
