    Protein Sparing?

    In the context of a MILD caloric deficit (250-300 under maintenance) what is more protein sparing? Heavy resistance training, or the amount of protein consumed? Obviously both combined is ideal, but hypothetically if you could do one or the other what would it be? Any studies, any insight?

    Perhaps I worded this wrong... Maybe what I meant to say was Muscle sparing.

    Don't know the exact science, but what I've read most people do on a cut is a 1-1.5g/lb bodyweight protein diet with heavy weights so that they maintain muscle mass.
