    diet, cardio, weight lifting.

You are overweight, actually obese at 5'8" 220. That's the only way to do it other than lipo. I'm not trying to be mean, but it's going to take a lot of effort and consistency.

You can't just lose the stomach fat.

A better way to have done this post, was provide similar information as you did in the thread you started in the other section on this board.

Which you also got your answer there, on what steps to take. Not sure what - more - you were expecting in here.

exercising doesn't make you lose weight. I mean sure, it helps but diet is all that really matters and thats clearly the issue ear. Eat clean foods and aim for 500 calories under your body maintenance. You'll lose about 1 lb of fat a week. Based on your current weight you got a ways to go, but sooner you get started the sooner you'll get done. Cardio and a decent weightlifting routine will aid with this process and help you build some lean mass (since you're a beginner I'm fairly certain you could still pack on lean mass while cutting, especially from your weight).

I look at it this way:

You can't out train, out cardio, or out supp a crappy diet...

Diet, heavy training and some form of cardio for those little final touches...

    Go on the leptin diet

First go on the leptin diet. You will lost fat fast...best diet to lose fat..
    Weight train 4-5x/week.
    Do carido post weight training.

A lot of people don't know what the leptin diet is, but leptin is a hormone that regulates everything in your body. It's the king of all hormones. Research the diet, follow it and you will see results fast. They only have 5 rules.

    1. Never eat after dinner
Never go to bed on a full stomach - leaving a gap of 11-12 hours between dinner and breakfast. This apparently allows enough time for optimum fat burning.
    2. Eat 3 meals per day
In stark contrast to those programs that advocate eating 5-6 times a day, the leptin diet calls for a gap of 5 hours between eating. During the first 3 hours after a meal, the hormone insulin will be storing the energy from food - and our bodies are not fat-burning mode.
    3. Do not eat large meals
Regular large meals leads to leptin and insulin resistance.
    4. Eat a high-protein breakfast
This supports blood sugar levels throughout the day. Late afternoon energy crashes are often due to eating a breakfast high in carbohydrates and little protein. A high carbohydrate breakfast, combined with leptin resistance can lead to overeating.
    5. Reduce the amount and glycemic index of carbohydrates consumed
This is not implying cutting out all carbs, but reducing, in particular starchy carbs. Top check whether too many carbs were eaten weigh yourself in the morning and at bedtime. If bedtime weight is more than 2 pounds over morning weight (and other rules) followed, then too many carbs were consumed.

Woops. I'm going to bed on a full stomach. Went to the gym at 5:00. Left the gym around 7:15. Got home around 8:00 and made dinner.

Anyway. I'm only 152lbs and have always had that lower abdominal body fat. I've never been able to get rid of it. Of course, I could cut and go into cardio mode, but I'm trying to gain weight, not go back down to 145lbs.

Check yourself for an anterior pelvic tilt. It contributes to buldge of the lower stomach regardless of fat content.

    Occam's razor....

So she could check herself for pelvic tilt, parasites, tumors, preganancy....

or she could try lowering her bodyfat through diet and exercise first.

Your an idiot. Bodyfat does not matter if you have a anterior tilting pelvis. You must correct it through glute activation and general posterior strengthening. She can be a toothpick and still have a slight buldge at the bottom of her stomach if she has a forward tilting pelvis. I understand your knowledge is lacking, back don't comment on something you know nothing about.

parasites, tumors?? wtf get real guy.

Jazztrumpet. Here, look at the pictures as i'm sure the reading part is to hard to comprehend. If you notice an anterior tilting pelvis will cause the stomach to expand out a bit. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...26tbs%3Disch:1

First off, the five rules are not from me, they are from Dr. Byron J. Richards who developed the leptin diet. It's based on the lastest scientific research helping people lose unwanted body fat without having the need to feel hungry. Perhaps you should do a bit more research behind the diet before writing this rude post.

    #2 Eat 3 meals a day.
#3 Do not eat large meals.

Don't call me clueless when you don't know what you're talking about. If you want to lose fat, you need to have a calorie DEFICIT. Your portion size is the equivalent of your palm for protein, hand for carbs and veggies. You're suppose to cut down your calories.

BTW, this diet is for many people who are leptin resistance. Leptin an important that plays a key role in regulating energy intake and energy expenditure, including appetite and metabolism. It is one of the most important adipose derived hormones.

People who have leptin resistance always feel hungry, even after they have eaten. It's because the wrong signals are sent to the brain. In other words, low levels of leptin send a message to the brain that the body is not full. A person who has a low leptin level never feels satiated, no matter how much food they consume. This leads to binge eating, emotional eating and difficulties losing weight. What happens is that the hormone stops doing what it is supposed to do and it transmits a message to the brain to eat more and more food.

    Read more about it here

By the way you, can you tone your mucles with cardio, it's call doing H.I.I.T...
Maybe it's time for you to update on your fitness knowledge
