Steelers looking for a top 10 pick for Ben Roethlisberger

    According to Adam Schefter.

Wow I can't believe they're actually going to deal him. Schefter said a deal could be in the works soon.

Dam, that is crazy. Steelers are dumbasses.
They couldn't go back to the Greasers
All they could do was pick up the pieces

I knew this was coming. Originally, they said the ruling on Big Ben would be made after the draft, but its clear that they did it beforehand so that any teams wanting to trade for him 1) are more likely to do so before the draft, and 2) would know how much time he would miss before dealing for him.

For the love of god... PLEASE make this happen.

the guy is a scumbag, but if you're looking for a QB, why risk paying a guy like bradford 50 million guaranteed when you could get a proven vet like roethlisberger for less?

according to a reliable source the Seahawks plan on making a very "surprising" move on thursday

that could mean many things, but Roethlisberger DOES fit the offensive system we're looking to run

not sure how I'd feel about him being on the team

If we DID trade for him, I'd like to see Hass/pick 14/and a 4th or something packaged rather than the 6th

EDIT: Though I think Bills/Raiders are MUCH more likely

He's not worth a top ten pick in my opinion. The Steelers offensive system helped him succeed.

They still got an elite defense and homeyboy Rashard. If they can get a serviceable replacement, they should be in the running. Any team with an elite defense a a solid running game has a shot. Also keep in mind, they aren't getting a 5th for Ben like they did Santonio. A top 10 pick. That could be a big time player as well. They could then even trade down for a 1st and 2nd. Their season is far from over.

I know, I just don't see them doing well in a division with the Ravens who filled their major holes on offense and have just as a good defense, and the Bengals, who will probably come out strong again. If Ben goes on top of Santonio leaving more likely than not they're third, maybe second.

    The last rumor is:

    Raiders get: Big Ben
    18th overall pick

    Steelers get: Nnamdi
    8th overall pick

Seems fair because Nnamdi will make 15 millions$ + for the year in 2 years.

Where this may be true, it's gotta be brutal to watch a team take 10 steps back (and remember they were 9-7 and not a playoff team last year) while key teams are taking significant strides forward this offseason (Baltimore, NYJ, Miami).

that's the thing is that they'd be looking for an immediate replacement, that's the only thing that makes sense in the Seahawks news of "a big move being made" and hasselbeck likely being on his way out with the addition of whitehurst

with roethlisbergers suspension they also get to give whitehurst some PT in this situation and build potential trade value

again unlikely, but im going crazy speculating over all the situations with the seahawks having 2 high picks and a completely new management/coaching regime

that could mean many things, but Roethlisberger DOES fit the offensive system we're looking to run

not sure how I'd feel about him being on the team

If we DID trade for him, I'd like to see Hass/pick 14/and a 4th or something packaged rather than the 6th

EDIT: Though I think Bills/Raiders are MUCH more likely
id like to see Mean Joe Greene find the fountain of youth, but why would the Steelers find any value in Hasselbeck?

When it comes to the NHL thread I'm the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

Are you preparing your field for the rain?

    A) He has personal/character issues. That takes him out of being 1st round worthy.
    B) He's been accused of rape 2 times. That takes him out of being 2nd round worthy.
    C) He's more or less a product of a good organization. He's worthy of maybe a 3rd rounder and a 6th.

I don't keep up with the steelers but I imagine they think they will be contenders? Hasselbeck buys them at least a season or two to remain such, moreso than a rookie like Clausen would.

    Ben's got more f*cking issues than T.O.

Atleast T.O doesn't **** around a lot off the field, this dude is a possible rapist.

Btw, as far as the Raiders getting him go, the above rumour is lol, as the Raiders will be getting ripped off.

That being said...I doubt it happens. Al Davis loves to boast/show off about pulling big moves and getting big players.

Ben isn't someone he can parade around like he did when he got Moss or Seymour.

This. I've never seen a QB as big as Roethlisberger be so elusive in the pocket. His pump-fakes and footwork are out of this world! He's like Dan Marino meets Tony Romo in that respect!
