    Can't sleep because of hunger...

    Hi guys,

    I have a question for you... It seems that I can't have a good night of sleep because I always wake up 2 hours after getting asleep cauz I crave food... And suprisingly simple carb foods...

    What should I do to not be hungry while sleeping ?

    I have the same problem, always 2-3 hrs after i get to sleep.

    Ive found eating more before bed helps. at the moniute cottage cheese or milk serves me best as its slow digesting.

    what do you crave? surprisingly all i crave is fruit of a MASSIVE proportion! literally cannot get back to sleep until ive had a couple of pieces of fruit. sometimes crumble to the hunger and get a bowl of cereal.

    how many calories are you consuming above/below maintenance as when i eat above maintenance i dont get this problem but if i eat under by a considerable amount it really affects me

    Maybe your body is saying eat more carbs! I mean if the body craves something it is usually because something in your diet needs to change. To some extent its true, for example if you crave pickles your body may just want more salt in your diet so your body just links it to something that has a ton of sodium in it. Don't be afraid to try something new with your diet, sometimes you have to change something and see how your body reacts to it and if it works awesome. If it does not work then try something else.

    A few things that have helped me:

    -bigger meals before bed
    -more calories
    -mixing "dirty" foods in with your clean foods for variety
    -refeeds (once weekly lower fats/protein raise carbs)

    i used to have this problem, somehow it went away and i can goto sleep starving and stay asleep now... i wish i could tell you how i stopped it but i have no idea..

    Ok so would a Casein Protein Shake before bed would be ok ? I eat my dinner at around 7 and go to sleep at midnight...

    Try eating some cc at night. It has a lot of protein so it should keep you full for awhile. Mix it with some fruits or PB. =)

    I sometimes take 2 tums calcium pills or 1 aleve pill. Usually makes my stomach stop bothering me; but it's not every night for me, maybe once every week or two.

    It used to happen to me a lot! Nowadays I fix sludge with chocolate whey at around
    8 pm and it holds me up nicely. I strongly suggest something similar...even some cottage cheese with whey powder would work.
