Need help with music choice. I only get 60 seconds.
Hey guys,
I was originally planning on doing the SNBF show on June 14th but since Pensacola is such a long drive (and by popular demand) I'm gonna do the June 21st show in Parkland for the NGA instead.
Unfortunately I only get 60 seconds instead of 90 for my night show routine and I need some recommendations for music. I want something hard rock with some bass to hit the poses.
I originally planned on Journey - "Someday Love Will Find You".....now i need to change it. Thanks guys!
- Fletch

The TV show "Highlander" used to begin with a song by Queen. I believe the name of the song is "Princes of the Universe." It has a very consistent underlying hard beat. I have pasted a link below with a WAV file containing part of the song (off some website). Keep in mind this WAV file sounds like it was taped off of a TV and there is no base. The actual song has a great base beat and I have always felt it would be perfect to pose to. It's short too. Check it out and let me know what you think.

It's not bad but I definitely want to go with something heavier like perhaps Pantera, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Metallica, or anything more along those lines.
Thanks for the reply and I'll definitely put the Queen song of my list of potentials. (Gotta see which music works best with the poses)

In that case I'd recommend Thieves by Ministry. That's what I was squating to last night. Ass to the grass, no belt, 405. I also realized that I won't be able to make your contest since I'll be manning a booth for LMR at the Superbody that weekend, and I also have a couple of guys who I helped prepare for the show competing.

At my last show I used "Sweating Bullets" by Megadeth. I can e-mail you the song if you want to check it out.
Good Luck!

I used Marylin Manson's "The Beautiful People" for my first show. The crowd loved it!

Have a listen to "Yello - Oh Yeah"
I think I will use that...It's bloody brilliant. I don't mind Journey, I could use the first 90sec of that, but it doesn't pick up untill it's about 1:15 into play. I guess the first 5sec could be cut off to help.
Question... if I'm allowed 90sec max, how long should I actually make my routine?

Make it no longer than your allowed time. Keep in mind that you're only allowed 60 seconds during prejudging so you'd most likely need to only use a portion of your night show routine or just cycle through the mandatory poses.
My prejudging routine was much more cut and dry with slightly shorter transitions between poses. I did, however, hit all the poses that I would be using in the night show.
When the night show came, I did my routine and it ended up being 65 seconds. I was after a couple routines that were very slow and drawn out to the full 90 seconds. 65 seconds of rock and roll was a good change of pace.

I believe I remember that song and some people using it back in my day. It probably is one of those songs that could be timeless and be used just as well in todays times.
What I like about it is that has potential to get the crowd moving and that will make your competition fun to know the crowd liked you. There is gratification on winning a show, but also gratification to be able to wow the audience and not bore them.

Best one I've seen recently was "Down With The Sickness" by Disturbed.
I'm tellin' ya...there were little old ladies with their heads bobbin'.
The whole place was rockin'.

Metallica "Sad but true", good beats to hit poses.
Drowning pool "Bodies" , always gets the crowd going.
Saliva "Click, click, boom".

How come nobody use soundtracks? There are very good ones like Gladiator and LOTR.
