Iceland volcano (Eyjafjallajokull) continues to erupt and has even picked up in intensity.

I don't understand why we don't put huge gigantic steam generators over volcano's. It would stop the volcano's from building to much pressure and blowing up and plus the amount of energy one could produce would be huge.

BTW, the last eruption of this volcano lasted over a year, from 1821 - 1823. If the bigger Katla volcano is gonna blow her top as well, it could take a while before that one blows just like it did last time.

- Lets hope not. Katla is huge compared to the currently-erupting Eyjafjallajokull. She has a caldera with a diameter of 10km and 70km3 of glacial ice filling the caldera.

Eyjafjallajokull - I REALLY wish someone would come up with a simpler name for it. How about "E-kull". The E-kull volcano?

i like where you head is at. something like geothermic generators which i think we already have going on in yellowstone. obviously you wouldnt be able to stop the eruption since that **** is huge but nonetheless we could still harness a **** ton of energy.
