All he asks is.... "Thank you."
I love the military men and woman and have a large following on bodyspace of them. Most are in Afghanistan and Iraq. Yet they hail from all over the world. They are far from home and miss their loves, kids, family, wives and friends.
I always answer their messages and PM's. I do what ever I can to take away any loneliness they indore. I try giving them my thanks for their service to this great country and much more. We talk mostly about bbing, yet sometimes just shoot the bull on anything.
Today I was messaged by one of my regular military friends, a "soldier". Typical of what I get. He said;

"hey popps! Just wanted to stop by on your page and say hey. Keep being that inspiration.. You really show how Time is not a factor in fitness. Keep banging!"
Then I message him back and said to him;

"This Soldier is holding his own... feel like a dawg on a collar can't wait to get back in the gym... I lost so much size since my injury it feels like I'm back to square 1. AWSOME PIC! even better haircut!"
Then I asked;

"Let me know if I can do anything for ya! I will if I can. That pic seems to get a lot of attention! LOL! One of the gals favorite! You let me know what I can do. Popps"
Then my friends, he says back to me;

"All I will ever ask is from you is to never forget all the men and women who are out there and fly a flag in their honor. I know for this ole war horse. When I hear thank you... It fills me with pride knowing that what we all do for our country and more so the people of this country and our families is worth the sacrifices we make."
This isn't about politics my bodybuilding brothers and sisters. It's about letting those we love know how much we care. How much we appreciate what they do. What they sacirfice on our behalf. They give so much and ask so little.
Maybe, if you feel so inclined, message back this "soldier" and just say, "Thank you". http://bodyspace.bodybuilding.com/rboone819/

Excellent! There are simply no words that do justice when it comes to those men and women who serve our country in the armed forces. Respect and honor to them, and blessing upon blessing.

Don't forget also, actions speak louder than words. There are many organizations that make it possible to give to the troops, soldiers, airmen and sailors. The USO is one. You can google to find many others. The guys love care packages of goodies, wipes, and in general things they can't get or that are very hard to get where they are stationed.
Back into the green. Thank you all that helped. :)

It Truly is The Giving Back
My friends. Thank you so much for doing this. I feel so lucky and fortunate to live and do as I please. I have been fortunate to have traveled world wide and although there are many wonderful places on this beautiful earth, nothing beats the USA. A good soldier puts everyone else first.
As you can see by Sag. Boone's response back to me, his concern is for is brothers and sister still in combat and harms way. I pray everyday for our military and ask you to do the same and, if you are a non believer, then pass a good thought out to them today and everyday.

When I was deployed I was overwhelmed with mail and care packages from people all over the states. My job kept me at a computer lots so I could keep in touch with a lot of folks to just chat or thank them for their gifts. I have 2 real jobs now and the National Guard/ military to thank for getting me where I am today. On 30 June this year i'm taking a serious look at retiring after 23 years and multiple deployments. Getting worn out and tired of it all. Nice to see the folks on this web site supportin' the troops. X

Sent messages to both. Thanks for the info Popps! I am a Desert Storm vet, and you don't know what a simple message can do for someone so far from home.
By the way, I received LOTS of care packages during my 6 months in the desert, and the one item that I highly recommend is 'Skin So Soft'. The sand fleas out there are horrible, and this stuff works. I drop some off at the local Guard unit whenever I can. And one thing that I would NOT recommend is candy bars. My mom sent me a package of Butterfingers or Snickers, and they were melted by the time I got them.

Truly there are some great organizations that will match you with soldiers. Sending care packages and letters/cards is fun and rewarding and can be great for the whole family to participate in. One of my friends stationed in Afghanistan missed dark chocolate something fierce, but it couldn't be sent because it was so hot and it just melted everywhere. I fixed that by sending him tubs of dark chocolate frosting...he was in chocolate heaven!!
