    Is it worth getting 2-3 hours of sleep?

    I have a test at 9:30 am, have to be up at ~8:30. Im probably going to be up till 5-5:30 studying.

    so? sleep for 2-3 hours or stay up?


    edit: its 1:42pm and Im feeling great lol, gotta love caffeine pills. Ive noticed that after pulling all nighters Im more talkative/not that self conscious... kinda like Im buzzed. Inb4 crash

    Wow, I just did what you descrbied today.

    My test is at 9:10 AM.

    I studied till 6:00 AM.

    I slept for an hour and 40 minutes and took a shower and drank a cup of coffee. You might crash later in the day, but you'll have more than enough energy and clarity for your test (which is much more important).

    dang.. I gotta study for another exam at 4pm right after I get outa this one... LoL hope I dont crash. I hate pulling all nighters/popping caffeien pills. Every time I say I will not let this happen again and here I am... + having a bad cold doesnt help.

    If it were just 2 hours, may as well stay up. I remember thinking a few times I could get up within a couple hours and make it to work......NOT slept through the alarm clock woke up and was over 3hrs late. This happened twice. after that I said fuk this if im going to have to be somewhere and im still up and its within 3 hours or less, im just staying up or all together saying fukit.

    Just make sure you have a loud alarm clock. I do this all the time.

    The only problem for me is that late in the afternoon, I catch colds and then feel dizzy and lazy most of the time.

    When you go to sleep the first couple hours you're in NREM sleep which doesn't paralyze the body (as opposed to REM sleep where you are paralyzed) So you could very easily get up and turn off your alarm and not even realize it. It's a deeper sleep which is why it's harder to get up and if you do you're going to be groggy as ****. Just sayin'.

    I've done this a lot and it's always better to get the sleep as long as you're sure that either:

    1. Your alarm will wake you

    OR

    2. Someone will shake you awake when you need to be up.

    Always. I've done both numerous times and you should get whatever sleep you can.
