    Stronglifts 5x5 vs Rippletoes 3x5??

    hey guys. my friend who is new to lifting is currently doing the Rippletoes program, but i'm telling him that he should switch to stronglift's 5x5. you get more reps, more mass, more strength, etc. i do have bias since i used SL 5x5 but is using SL 5x5 better than rippletoes's 3x5 program??

    SL is pretty much a ripoff of Starr and Rippetoe. Stick with the guys that really know there sh*t. I'd bet Rippetoe can squat more than Mehdi and he's got to be almost 60.

    looks like an inferior version of rippetoes to be honest. if he is making progress he should stay on it until he stalls then move onto something else.

    agreed, its a blatant copy and it trys to be different just for the sake of being different. inverted rows? common, barbell rows or power cleans FTW. and you can add in some pull ups/ chin ups 1-2 days a week on rippetoes after the main part of the work out

    That's not including warm-up sets and you can add chins/dips/pullups if you want to.
