    Herniated disc C6-C7

I realize this subject has been brought up a lot but 1 question that has not been answered is recovery of the nerve. 7 weeks ago the nerve root coming from C6-C7 was pinched and it hurt badly. I recieved an epidural shot of cortisone that reduced the inflamation and eliminated the pain 1 week after the pinch. My question is the tricep is still about 1/2 as strong as it used to be.How long does it take before the nerve is fully healed and firing the correct signals and restoreing all my strength. I've also lost 1" of size in that arm. My doctor is having me go to Physical Therapy 3 times a week which im doing and after 1 week of that I still have not seen any improvement. I'm worried and concerned.

i dont know about nerve damage, but if you area allowed to move ur arm, even doing like 50 reps of tricep extensions with a soda can will help stop ur tricep from atrophying that fast.

I had a herniated disc for about 6 years. Got it from hiperextending to much one time at work.
I never got the MRI but my doctor said based on X rays (which showed arthritis symptoms and decreased disk space) I COULD have a herniated disc.
I train for 3 years already and I have no problems.
Only thing is that i dont deadlift heavy and I feel back pain when I sit down for too long.

I have 2 herniations, t7/8 and c5/6 3 years strong now. I noticed that my left tricep has a dull ache or a sharp pinch every now and again, but until the nerve is no longer impinged, you'll have isolated weakness affiliated with the herniation. Dont think of it as your muscle being weak, think of it as circuit. When you're lacking connections the signal is weaker eventhough the equipment isn't malfunctioning, there's only one thing you can do; add more wires......but obviously its not that simple lol.

And if i remember correctly, nerve tissue only heals at a rate of like 3mm/year
