    how many chest exercises should I do on chest day

    Which is a good number of chest exercises to do when training the chest? I am unsure how many to actually do and how long to stop in the gym?

    Depending on their routines, they will do 3-8 exercises, for 1-5 sets.

    I personally shoot for 9 work sets per muscle, and my split has me hitting each muscle twice a week.

    Totally agree, If your starting, 3 exercises might be enough to start and get a good burn, If you have been doing this for a bit, you might need to increase the amount of exercises.

    Not sure if this would work for you, but I would recommend doing basics to hit each area,

    Incline dumbbell or Barbell Press
    Flat dumbbell or Barbell Press
    Some type of fly movement, whether it be machine, dumbbell, or even cable crossovers
    If you need to hit your lower pecs, dips or decline bench press would be good.
    - As for how many sets, do what works for you, just don't run the risk of overtraining

    I'll go against the popular rule here, do two excercises for chest, an incline press and then flat bench press(dumbells or barbells)..and then go on to something else..!
