    Is oatmeal a good breakfast?

I usually mix about 3/4 a cup with water and mix in a chopped apple. Just wondering whether this is good or not. Thanks!

I'd add a protein source with it such as eggs or a whey shake.

x2 this is my breakfast most days.

Oatmeal is great. In fact, you aren't living until you put a couple packets of splenda and some vanilla extract in there.

oatmeal is one of my favorite foods. It fills me up and it is convenient. I usually add it to my pre and post workout shakes since I workout in the morning before work.

Yup, try muesli too. I eat muesli (rolled oats, dried apples, raisans, almonds, pine nuts) plus cinnamon and 1 whole egg + 5 egg whites every morning.

Yes it's a great breakfast.....even better with 1-2 scoops of whey....either in it, or on the side in a shake.

    ^^^ This

I'd switch to Steel Cut Oats if you can, but oatmeal is fine. I eat steel cuts + protein shake 90% of the time for breakfast (gotta rush out the house mostly)

I usually don't bother with oats any more during breakfast ... I only eat three egg whites since I get enough carbs from my dinner the night before, and that seems to be working for me ... I've even cut out my protein shake during my heavy cardio week(s) now since I don't need them as I'm not doing a whole lot of heavy lifts

Feels pretty good so far, though I'm going back on my shakes as soon as I've made the bump down to 220 pounds
