I was down to about 1350 cals per day. This is what I calculated to lose 2lbs per week.
People freak out when I tell them this, and they give me advice on how I should eat more and do cardio.
So my question is, whats the difference between eating 1350 cals per day
or eatin 1900 cals per day and burning off 550 cals with some cardio?
Either ways its 1350 cals.
This type of diet has worked very well for me (down 25 lbs) but I have noticed that I am getting stuck so I have ramped my cals up to 1600 and will add some light cardio.
Just wondered if there really is a difference or not.

Take everything in with grain of salt bro. What the point of upping the calories? You'll be burning that **** off with cardio, which leads you back to point A w/ same deficit or less (cardio doesn't accurately burn the same amount, the less you weight the less calories burned).
-----------------
With big deficit, the main priority is consuming high protein with 2-3 time a week of heavy lifting to maintain muscle.
Personal preferences on upping the calorie intake & than reducing it again with cardio, I find it a pain, but whatever...

I did low cals and to much cardio at one stage and ended up putting the weight back on and then dropped it again at a slower rate and at the same scale weight I looked alot better that before as I probaly lost muscle and then put the weight back on and gained it back and cut the fat off only the 2nd time round.
Do you wanna be a skeleton whaen your finished and eat really low cals or do you wanna be lean?
Also your at 177lbs already so you can't drop that much more even if you have a small musle frame under the fat so 1lbs a week at your points is excalty what I would be happy withhttp://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=120534891 - May 1st Challenge. (Prize!) Thread

I'm hoping to get to 170. I was at 205 so my original goal was to "lose fat, and I don't care what it takes". Now that I did that, may be time to reformulate a plan.
Thats why I was asking in here about eating more and doing cardio.
BTW, I lost 25 lb in about 5 months so while that is a good loss, it wasn't a "fast loss", so I think I can keep it off assuming I don't have health issues. going to a doctor in May for that.
