Dextrose, is glucolin a good carbs ?

Hi there. My question is, is dextrose good for post workout ? One of the good example of dextrose is Glucolin. I have been taking 33g of dextrose and 5g of glutamine for post workout for a week. It feels okay, muscle still sore quite much the next day compare to taking need protein/whey as post-workout.

Do you guys have anything to say regarding to this source of carbs ? All I know about dextrose is that it's fast acting carbs since its literally just sugar and it's super sweet.

I'm just afraid I might get type-2 diabetes if I continue taking it for a month. So I need a debate or something.

I suggest you do some research on diabetes , it does not happen over night.

I did. There are people who get T2-diabetes after they consume tons of carbs for about 3 months. My friend was an example, I dont know what he ate but I know he was taking mass gainer and whey. Then suddenly months later when I met him, he told me that doctor says he has diabetes and he needs to take insulin injection every 1 to 2 days. Not sure about his condition now since it was 2 years ago.

Take it if you want, but 100% not needed. No specific type of carbohydrate is needed directly post-workout.

Just go eat some real food.

Respect your reply. Oats can be counted as real food right ? Or do you have alternative suggestion ?

Working out isn't going to deplete your glycogen stores enough to justify taking 33g of sugar.

Oats, bread, potato, pasta, sugar, literally any form of carbohydrate will work.

yessir, just mix in 1/2 cup - 1 cup of oat flour (simply blended oats) into your PWO protein shake. Works like a charm

Will you mind elaborate just a bit more ? I want to know the reason why you put it that way. Just curious.

Sugar ? Those like brown sugar used to make sweet stuff ? If compare with dextrose (in this case glucolin), which one is cheaper ?
