    Thumbs up Selenium

Researchers believe this mineral destroys cancer-causing free radicals before they have a chance to attack prostate cells. In multiple studies scientists have determined that taking 200 mcg of selenium everyday lowers the risk of prostate cancer by 49%.

Interesting, I was always under the impression that a little too much of it was linked to prostate cancer. You mind posting a source?

Actually, selenium is one of the minerals were supplementing can cause you to get too much if you aren't careful, to the point where it is harmful.

Exceeding 400mcg daily can cause selenosis. If you're supplementing 200mcg, that's already half your tolerable limit. Just hope you don't get more than another 200mcg from food, otherwise you could see some problems over time. http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/selenium.asp#h7
