    Mulit position olympic bench

I am trying to find a nice multi position bench for my basement. I go tot eh gym at 415 in the morning and no one is there to spot me. So I fiquered i'd try to get one for my house so someone can help me out. I came across the valor bf 37, and body solid GDIB46L. These are both multi position, and the valor can support up to 450 lbs. Any members out there have any experience with these two, or could recomend another product? Also kinda stupid question, but since these aren't commercial benches should I be worried with them holding that weight if for say I am benching 330 lbs? I want to make a good investment out of this not something thats gonna break down fast due to me trying to acheive my goals. Thanks guys

Valor is a crap brand. You need to read the FAQ.

If you were benching 330 at 210 body weight you would be putting 540 on the bench.

yah but you have to find out what they used as their "person's weight", they might have figured for 50lbs for all you know.

and as Wildtim already said, it is a crappy brand.

    What does a person weigh?

are they a 100 pound girl or a 300+ mass monster?

Makes a huge difference. If anyone ever gives you some type of variable like that when estimating safety don't walk away from the product back away slowly and keep your eyes on that erson at all times because they are a criminal.

We sell Body Solid and this is not the bench I would get if you are benching 330. Not at all! What I would suggest is that you buy a squat rack and an adjustable bench; both used of course as you can buy a commercial open rack and something like an Icarian super bench for about $550. New they would run about $1500 but used not even close. They can both handle about 1000 lbs and you would not have to worry about weight overload. You would also be able to bench, flat and incline and feel comfortable where the bench lies. A lot of times when you get an adjustable Olympic bench, the catch bars do not fall in the correct spot and interfere with your workout.
