I happened to watch the concert footage from Woodstock last week. I've seen it many times before, but as I was watching Jimi's set I can the realization that he is greatest guitarist to ever exist and may be the greatest that will ever exist.
Maybe not based on technical skill, but based on actually being a part of the guitar, expressiveness, coming up with his own style and sound. The man didn't think about playing guitar, he just played it.

Far from my favourite, but there's no denying his awesome guitar tone, creativity and sheer emotion in his playing.

Far from their best song but nice vid of Dime's playing which is what I assumed OP was talking about.

I always liked the "Hey Joe" song where Jimi played with his teeth. My dad and his best friend were at a concert of his in Madison Wisconsin in '71 and said that it was pretty amazing.
