I get a ton of PM's and for those wondering here's my story:
I had the same bodyfat percentage when I started training them seriously and they transformed. I just had outlines and I focused on heavy WEIGHTED exercises such as the heavy crunch machine. I also do hanging leg lifts keeping my legs straight with a heavy weight between my feet. It is all about heavy weight with core, the sissy stuff isn't going to work. I did the usual stuff for almost a year with very minimal progress, once I started doing everything 8-10 reps weighted they separated and got deep cuts.
Anyways hope this helps, abs are not made in the kitchen they are made visible in the kitchen. Abs are made in the gym, I don't care what anyone else says.
O and those who say squats/deadlifts are their ab routine, that is also a joke. Although those two lifts do hit core secondarily there is no way they will work as well as isolation. Focus on the negative on every exercise, do the rep slow and focus on a slow negative.
That is all. Cool story bro, I know.

Brb adding more weight, less reps to core lifts. Sick core man.
I also agree with you that that saying "abs are made in the kitchen" is bs. Anyone can simply starve themselves and get outlines, but to get real abs u gotta feed em just like any other muscle.Jaguars and Diamondbacks +

Planks are ok but again they are more of a stamina exercise and wont really build the core. Stick to weighted isolation exercises.
Nope but I should make one, I have had a few people tell me to make one with my routine. Maybe this summer.
Go to the pull up bar and hang while lifting your legs straight ahead like the shape of an L. Don't bend your knees if you can, work your way up to using weight such as 5lbs between your feet after a while.
Good deal, ya I keep everything around 8-10 reps for 4 sets of each exercise. I usually start with the crunch machine and load it up to 150 or so lbs. Focus on the mind-muscle connection and do SLOW controlled reps, make sure you don't just release the weight after the rep. Make sure the negative is just as slow and controlled as the rep. A lot of people worry about throwing as much weight onto their core as they can and totally neglect the mind-muscle connection therefore training other areas not intended. Focus on the lift and work the weight up weekly.
Chest is MUCH better now, those are older pics almost a year old now. Obliques are from hockey, nothing I can do about them lol.
O and I do my routine mon/wed/friday.Last edited by stev310; 04-06-2010 at 09:49 PM.

Here are my favs (lol at gif I found):
Crunch Machine:
Roman Chair Lifts (with a 20lb weight between my feet, start off with no weight and DO NOT bend your knees.)
I then move to hanging leg lifts and decline sit ups with a 45lb plate on my chest. With those exercises you should be set if you're doing it right.
I do slow reps on everything, started this lifting style about a month and a half ago and am getting crazy results. I do it on everything except squats/deadlifts.
I started when I was 19 brah, perfect time to start. Get it going.
