Is a 16 oz steak, half of a baked potatoe, and salad a good meal to eat on a cut? I try to cut most of the fat off of it.

Well, that's a big difference. Like others have said, I'd probably stay away from 16 OZ just because that's like... a third of all the food I eat in a day.
But I had 10 OZ for dinner the other day and it was great!
It's probably a mix of solid and bro science, but I've repeatedly heard that red meat helps with muscle anabolism (building muscle), and if it fits in your macros it couldn't hurt either way, right?
Enjoy

9 oz might OK if you planned it out for the day. That's about 600 calories in the steak alone but baked potato is about 160 without butter. So you're talking 750+ for that meal.
A 5 oz steak and baked potato is probably a better fit for most people: 420 calories or so, throw in some broccoli and a pat of butter and you're still under 500 calories.Vikings--Wolves-Gophers

Steak is the bomb at a local market here. They are really lean cuts of chuck steak...pretty much no fat on them....I can get 2-3 huge ones in a pack for like 4-5$ sometimes. If I cut them up I can pry get 6 steaks out of them....I usually eat a whole huge one myself though....OM NOM....too good to only eat a little one.

Steak is awesome. 16oz of it is pretty big though. If it fits into your cals, go for it, but I go with a smaller portion.
6oz top sirloin covered in grilled onions with a bit of A-1 and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. Oh man, I just ate breakfast and now I'm hungry again. Damn it."You show me someone who got fat eating fruit and I'll show you someone with a deep fryer and too much time on their hands."
