During the summers I hit up a lot of beach parties, and I think I will be at the point where I will feel comfortable in a Speedo. What do you guys think? Are they ever appropriate outside of a bodybuilding competition?

I switched to speedos ever since I did my study abroad in Spain last summer
I still catch **** for it, but normally its only from scrawny kids .
If your going to wear one though, you gotta be confident. If you look like your uncomfortable wearing one everyone around you is goin to be uncomfertable and give you **** .
I wear the square type though. Not that thong type

Re: Speedos at the beach
As long as your not overweight and in descent shape, they are fine. I am in reasonable shape and I really don't see what the big fuss is in the United States in regards to speedos provided the person is in good shape.
I really think the overweight and hairy guys have put a bad stigma on speedos. The same thing with women, I do not want to see an overweight woman in a bikini, its just gross.
If you decide to wear speedos, just make sure you get rid of excess body hair because that really isn't a good look.

There's a discussion somewhere on men's health website about this that's got hundreds of posts, mostly from American women who really dig a man's build body in speedos. Some even laugh at the insecure culture of phags who adopted the long surfer or 3/4 style pants. It's mostly homophobic and insecure dudes who will laugh at that style, women while they won't say that out loud on the beach, do mire it.65/30/5

They're appropriate, but they will stick out. (no pun) I generally only wear them to the beach while in Mexico or something. Also wear them under my shorts while surfing, etc. Otherwise, I wear them to the pool for lap swimming frequently. Personally, I wouldn't be wearing them to a beach party, but I say go for it if you have the confidence.
If you're not obviously flaunting and don't live in a redneck area, you probably won't run into any opposition IRL. Heck, the more fit, hetero guys out there in briefer swimwear, the more negative stereotypes will die-out.
