I'm switching my program to a Pavel Program. I'm not getting in my OLD at all, and I find that discouraging. Or I might go back to the KB complexes, 2-3 times a week. It's the stuff I made Thaddeus do, and it will give me enough focus to still be moving, but not feel like i should/could/have to.. I might do those manmakers: alternating a set of high rep swings with 12 mins of jogging/ropeskipping 2x a week, and 2x 5 mins of get ups.

Okay, I had a major lightbulb moment. First mistake: changing your workout when you walk into the gym. I wanted to do the RKC minimum workouts, but I suddenly got scared about not squatting.
I tweaked my back on my 3 set of 60kgs front squats, it was minor, nothing serious. But I was thinking how I can't seem to come to grips with the weightloss in relation to the weights I'm supposed to be using. I then find out that it's super hard, or that I feel that minor 'ouch', and get demotivated. I lost 8% of my bodyweight. You'd think that I'd have to cut at least that from my working weights, right? That would mean working with 57.5, max. It's not a big difference (and talking less between sets would've helped) but how the hell did I miss the whole idea of rebuilding?! It's no wonder that I've been missing workouts, because I've been doing it wrong. :-/ Sucks.
I hate having to start over again. Oh well.. I've been making all the mistakes I'm warning my guys about.
Here we go, what I'll be doing the next month:
Today: devise proper warm up routine.
Tomorrow: high rep set of swings, 12 mins of jogging/ropeskipping, repeat.
Tuesday: 2x5 minutes of Get ups, 5 mins in between.
Wednesday: Heavy Deadlifts
Thursday: 2x5 TGUs
Friday: High Rep Swings
2 sets of pull ups after ach workout. Devise proper eating plan as well.

SEnt out a request for FMS, and realized I need to take up more abworkk. I'm being arrogant by thinking I can just pick up where I left.
Rugby Boys are getting excited. One is superexcited, the youngest is adorable and calls me before workouts to check if he understands the workout correctly (his first ever fitness program!) and Shy Guy is adjusting to his role in the new season. He's making progress in the shy department, but I doubt that he'll start his program.

Back is better, and I went in to do the first stage from Enter the KEttlebell today and abwork. my left side is overall weaker on stability, and I totally flaked out on rope skipping. So far, not so good. :P Howsomdever, my FMS was really good, although I was clearly muscling my way through the movements and not making it fluent, so I scored a lot of threes, but I know better. And my muscle soreness is kicking in. Will have to do better tomorrow.

Here's a question to you (I'm sure there are people out there that know):
One of our players had concussion symptoms (dizzyness, nausea when looking down, really wanting to lie down, generally feeling bad), however both the president (doctor in training) and the captain neglected to take responsibility for this player. Is it responsible to let somebody finish a tournament? I wanted to pull him out, but

Rope skipping for ab work? That sounds interesting, and funner than the normal stuff.
For the guy, yea, I would say something - but I don't know where responsibility would lie. Doesn't he have a say in whether he plays or not? and concussions are scary. So many long lasting consequences.

No, ab work and ropeskipping. Not one for the other.
He gets a say in whether he plays. Which I think is stupid. RAn into him yesterday, totally stressed, in a terrible mood and overwhelmed again. Shy guy is not doing well. Although it might have to do with him partying heavily (even after the suspected concussion!).

That's the part that is so underrated!
Anyway, went in for a quick workout yesterday, felt a minor discomfort in my bicep, and got offered a new home. It's an adorable upstairs part to a duplex, and in a neighbourhood that looks great. Today: swings & skipping.

WEnt in, did my warm up (soft roll from prone to supine w. left hand MUCH harder!) then 35 20kg swings, 90secs of rope, 2 mins of nothing 90 secs of rope. Thirty eight reps of 20kg swings to finish. Went home because I'm starving.

'nother workout!
2x5 mins of 16kg TGUS (much better than last time), 2 sets of pull ups. Flexibility is improving and warming up is coming together! I feel much looser and frankly more relaxed. Also got offered a new house. Excited!

I didn't workout t oday. Went in with another rugby boy (who told me that Old Captain was always extremely positive about me volunteering! heartwarming.) to test him. Very interesting, he has great mobility but doesn't know how to use the muscles, you know?
Will go in tomorrow early, that way it won't be so humid and draining. I have about 7 rugby boys doing 'my stuff'now. One with a double fracture, one herniated disk case, one ex-ACL reconstruction, one ex-decathlonist, one soon to be ex-captain, one teeny tiny scrum half, one 'loose canon' full back. And one tagging along for the ride who isn't interacting with me directly so it doesn't really count. I wonder how they'll do.
So far, I'm noticing: lot of stiff upperbacks, poor hip mobility, overactive on external abs, internal rotation almost always limited. Couple have bad breathing mechanics.
Calling Shy Guy on thursday to hear about his plans. My gut feeling says he cannot commit to lifting. Especially not since he'll be captain next season. Still highly attractive despite not lifting. Would husband.
The Original Rugby Kid is in Argentina right now, he loves life and is a little dazzled by all the opportunities a new country offers. He won't be at my graduation party, which is a bit sad, but I couldn't reschedule. And besides, who knows how long he'll stay there.
